Devil1976 SG The answer is 'YES'. Please note though that there would be some factors to be taken into consideration of such cases.
czechmate SG Yeah, all right, so they say default on maintenance payments a coupla times and they ship the guy to lockup with just his toothbrush and toothpaste, right? But the guy'll say times are bad ... salary affected by bird flu, SARS, terrorist attacks, economic downturn, increase in GST What's a judge to do ...
Devil1976 SG They'll still have to backdate and pay up.. If time is bad, they can always ask for an adjustment in maintenance order accordingly.. The LAST thing you would wanna do is to TEST the patience of a JUDGE...
the Bear SG well, crap happens... sadly.. some men are terrible... but when you find that man who is faithful and loving, please don't treat him like trash? it's sad to see people tearing their hair out when they go for the well-known dangerous heartbreaker who treats them like dirt, then go to the next heartbreaker until hardened and calloused, suddenly "all men are bastards"... when there are wallflowers who are loving and kind around... those whom women will never give a second glance to... alas.. as for your dad, since he's shown himself irresponsible, get the courts on him!
genxal SG iceprincess hang in there!!! trust me ....its not onLY the guys that CAN hurt....the women tooo.....can sting pretty bad.....hold ur head up high.....and dun let unfortunate events hold u back from living life......happiness is out there......FIND IT!!!
czechmate SG Where times are bad but there is an increase in the guy's salary, can a guy still go to court to adjust the maintenance order downwards? I've wondered about this but I hear it's possible.

And it's also much of a matter of how you can convince the judge and whether you can make him / her like you... Well.. In a way...?
Devil1976 SG Who? Well... Being a lawyer himself does puts him on a better edge in the sense that he might know the system better... But knowing the system better would also means that he shouldn't be making 'stupid' suggestions to the judge? As I've said, it'll depends alot on how he put it across and how the particular judge sees it? Why are you asking so much about all these...?
czechmate SG Curiosity. Overheard some people saying that there'd been a spate of judge/s decisions with lawyers involved where they'd been given "special treatment" even though their cases were weaker and if they'd been not been lawyers those decisions might not have been made. Doesn't sound right to me ...
Devil1976 SG What's right...? Come on...? The universe is DARK... If it's 'bright', it's just because you happens to be on the side where the sun is shining on you... How old are you by the way? 'Right'? Well.. If all things' right then some people won't be asking god to save them already...?
