should i quit?

bbwolf SG

You should quit immediately. Stop pondering so much and just end it quick.

The faster u end it, the lesser pain u will feel, why let it keep dragging. Just quit.

blurtoad SG

Since u r in the last yr liao, just finish it lah.

ACCA got exemptions for poly grad who had studied accting n finance courses in poly.

ACCA not so simple lor, alot of my frens actually gave up in the second level cos the exams are hard to pass. A few of them have tried at least 3 to 5 times before they cleared the paper.

I am not trying to discourage u but think it best to arm with a poly cert first rather then changing course in the midst.

shinta SG

with a diploma, i'm allowed exemptions for the first level...thats wat a fren said..

i'm tinkin of whether to change my diploma or not, to accounting and finance...it will be juz 1 extra sem....for me...

it seems like the advise of most people is to continue with my current diploma... Confused

fishbuff SG

stick it to the end. i too was stuck in civil engineering course at singapore polytechnic, hated every moment of it but had to stuck it to the end. At least i got a diploma which i used it to apply for computer courses. in singapore, having academic qualification is extremely critical to your future. Since u are into the final year, better stick it through. After that, then consider other options. Good luck.

icecloud SG

maybe you can go and ask the relevant staff inside your poly about starting a new course after finishing one...
see what type of exemptions they will be able to provide for you...
Guess this will help you decide on the choice of whether to continue or not...

Twisted Evil
just do it

Devil1976 SG

Yeah... Changing course is an OPEN OPTION... You can weigh the pros and cons and decide for yourself..? Mr. Green

shinta SG

my fren told me she asked b4, regardn chgin of course....and they say i would hav to start from year 1, with NO exemptions, whether in NYP, or any other polys, and it's subjected to Director's approval.

damn.....

seems like i got no other choice but to stick to this course ler... T_T

Devil1976 SG

Hmm... From what I used to know, they actually allowed that..? Not sure if it's a change in policy or something.. But think it would be better if you can clarify and find out more on the exemption stuffs from your campus or department..?

supercharger SG

sorry bbwolf, but I disagree... nothing worthwhile in life ever comes easily and to quit doing something just because there is pain or inconvenience etc is simply not the answer.

I still think you should stop thinking so much about the possibilities of doing this and that and just buckle down and finish your course... the grass unfortunately always seems greener but that is seldom true in real life.

Stick with it and stop regretting it. after that you can go do something else. and guess what with your dip, you are actually ahead and more advance and better qualified than your peers in your next course bec you have more studies knowledge and experience than them which will be helpful when you start work! I think your CV will look way better too!
