well i have no issue about it as family trees are huge and probably goes back a few dozen generations.. so if you are concerned about the shrinking gene pool I would think it ok...
well thats my own opinion
I would think mr chan from Clementi and a miss chan from las vegas are ok.. if in singapore I would try and do a background check at some of the associations just to verify you arent like first cousins or something like that

Date outside your race, then you won’t encounter this problem if you believe in it so much. Alternatively you can always go and review family health history together to see if you have common killing genes that you will end up passing to your kid, causing some form of deformity..

It is not a problem. My parents have same surname too.

A good friend of mine also has a same surname as her husband. Before married, she was Miss Tan. Now she is Mrs Tan.
