its true that if you dont try you dont know but I am wondering,
since you are already quite sure - sometimes many of us just knows
it in our gut - then I would suggest that you do not. Why go out on
a limp to try sometime that will ultimately hurt both of you?
Every relationship will leave some scars big and small depending on
how involved you are.
As several of the posters here already pointed out there is next to
no details so its difficult to make a judgement call. But since I
assume you know it yourself, and you are fairly convinced that it
will fail for whatever reason, then please spare yourself some
grief and pass this one on. your heart will thank you for it.
Imagine what would happen while you are nursing the grief and this
cool cutie came along... (most people including yourself ) will not
be healthy enogh emotionally to give your best for this new one
that has better potential. It takes time to heal. psychological
studies shows that it takes at least 6 months to clear your system
of the relationship and if you are really invloved it can be
anywhere from 2 to 5 years to fully recover.
So please do not think that this little doomed relationship will
have little or no effect on your life, it has and it will be
painful to a certain degree.
I have seen enough short term relatioinships in friends to know how
damaging it can be - Yes its true that if you dont try you dont
know but please spare a tot for yourself and your well being as
well. If you want to try, try it with someone that you know you
stand a better longer term chance than a short term one.
One question, if you think that its doomed to fail, why are you
still thinking of starting one? what is the reason?
