i think u could be over-reacting.

he could be seeking help to outdo his rival, but at least he has not state it explicitly, yet. on the other hand, he could be seeking advices on how to sort out the emotional mess in him.

meanwhile, just let him know what is the right way of judging the situation before he commit the so-called "evil intention".
