yesterday i refused to loan my mum my keyboard because we replaced her com with parts left over from my upgraded com so her old keyboard couldnt be used, her mouse could fit into another port.

anyway we argued and she was whining all the way and when she gave up, she went back to her room and slammed the door.

then just now my dad wanted me to install a calculation program for him inside MY computer when i told him to buy a new keyboard and mouse, i refused to do it and he raised his voice. he always does it when he doesnt get things done his way. always!

as he left my room i heard him shouting at me telling me to install it.

i ignored him. i feel that my parents are behaving like kids.
when they dont get things done their way, they raise their voices,threaten this threaten that, whine,slam the door.

then why u refuse to install for him... go buy a keyboard for your mum...she might be surprised by your kind act and maybe she will change her attitude towards u...

well.. ur parents may not haf chosen the most appropriate manner to send their message across, and resolve the matter. parenting styles may be not so desirable.

but at the same time, perhaps u wanna reflect upon wat u did?

it takes 2 hands to clap. if u think ur parents r misbehaving to u, chances r u haf a part to play in their reactions.

hm.. i meant tt in most situations usually all the parties haf a part to play - the responsibility more often then not canot be pinned down to any one party.

so perhaps you would like to reflect on ur own actions, tt provoked ur parents' reactions?

i didnt want to lend the keyboard to them because i was doing work and i dont want to be interuppted

i have told them time and time again to get a new keyboard and now i have no idea what she did and she says the computer crashed. and she asks me how when my course is not anywhere near remotely related to 101010010

she keeps whining at every possible problem and not attempting to solve it.

wow, I can actually relate to your problem. My mother just cant understand the simple concepts of how a computer works. Every little thing shes calls out for help - even to turn off the computer!!!

she tells me " you must show me how to fix the problem so i can do it next time"... well, for me to show her how to fix it, i have to solve it myself then show her.

Alot of the time it is very basic things which anyone with common sense can solve. Then i get scolded because i say anyone can solve it if they just try and think about it, and then next time comes around and she forgets and asks me to show her again!!!!!

not easy... i guess just have to be patient, like they were when we they were teaching me to speak, read and write....

Yeah, when ppl grow older, their processing mind become slower. You just need more patience with them.
Or maybe, they are just trying to get your attention? They do need someone to talk to at times...

put urself in her shoes, and try to understand wat she feels and thinks.

and also, think abt wat happens when u r at her age - how u like ur descedants to treat u.

yes, the amount of patience they haf shown in bringing us up shud be sufficient reason for us to spend a little more time on them.
