the terms 'going steady', 'boyfriend girlfriend', 'in a relationship', 'seeing someone' hold no water anymore in today's world...

in the past, if people really dated, and are in a relationship, the chances of them to get married are way higher than now.

just look at our divorce rates. even marriage don't mean a thing. what is 'going steady'?

the term is there for a reason, its just up to us modern humans to screw it all up

Divorce is practically unheard of last time.

Now, I know of 4 couples (my friends) who married young and within 2 years divorced liao.

The marriage institution has become a game for pple to play nowadays.

Smile I'm quite a traditional girl, and I still believe that 'going steady', though I'd prefer calling it 'being in a relationship' as to 'steady', is putting yourself on the road to marriage.

Relationships are an art, and this particular section is definitely one of the most important ones of our lives.

Sometimes, youngsters rush into things because they feel that they NEED to be in a relationship rather than there be any purpose in it.

i feel "going steady" is lik testing out each other 1st,to see what they 2 ppl hv in common,gd point & flaws,if can be together ,if cannot den leave,some is (lik me) mayb cannot but still drag Crying or Very sad Embarassed ,to see either ppl can accept the flaws of the parthner, if can den mayb will proceed to marriage,provided got $$...& lots of things to handle in the future.

Erm, okie, here's my view.

Going steady is dating somebody exclusively, u dun get involved wif somebody else.

Sometimes going steady may lead to marriage, sometimes it doesn't. Some might hafta go thru a few serious r'ships (read: steadies) before they find The One. Some r lucky, & find The One rite away.
