It does not make sesne to have bus services that run in parallel
to MRT lines. The buses will definitely takes much longer time to
arrive to destination. On the other hand we could have bus services
if:
a. bus plying on route can arrive quicker. Example bus services
between Woodland and Tampines, Punggol and Pasir Ris, CCK and
Harbourfront, Yew Tee and Boon Lay.
b.bus that feed into MRT. Example 78, 79 that feed Teban and
Pandan Gardens residents to Clementi. Teban and Pandan residents
have buses that feed them into NEL and CCL?
c. provides alternative to current bus services in cutting down
waiting time. If one has to wait for up to 15min for last lap bus
services that was just 3min journey away, it make no sense for one
to make train-bus journey. Example why Farrer residents only has
186 that ferry them from Queenstown MRT? why Holland residents only
has 970 that ferry them from Commonwealth MRT?
