Cerebral_Assassin SG i just ate a tablet, no instructions on consumption and i chew n swallowed it coz quite big, wa the heck, damn bloody disgusting taste…......drank tons of water still got the taste, almost made me vomit my meal out…....

Devil1976 SG Not true...? I've given that a thought before... I used to think the same way as you do. Then you'll have to realise that not all medications are meant to be absorbed by the body 'quickly'... And I believe such would usually comes in a liquid form...? Take a good example would be antibiotics capsules. Why does some medications which comes in powder form have to be packed in a capsule? I would like to think it's to prevent it from dispersing? Such medications which are capsules or tablets are generally 'targetted' forms I believe? To allow them to be swallowed but not deactivated by the many enzymatic activities in our body and the extreme pH? When taking medications especially antibiotics, it's better (important) to follow the instructions closely as duration, dosage and comsumption methods are usually important for them to take effect properly.....
Danisdead101times SG pills actually u have to swallow them cas if u swallow it after u chew it,the medicine will not be as strong as when u swallow the whole pill...and i think nobody here like to eat medicine here,but those (PILLS) i don't know here is there anyone taking anot lah...

MooKu SG I used to always chew the tablets, even Panadol, until I began to have to take pills on a regular basis. I started to swallow them. It was very tough at first lar, like, I'd have to use two cups of water for swallowing ONE tablet. But gradually... SKILL! If it's too big or you don't want to chew so you can swallow, use a knife to cut it into smaller bits to swallow. I always break the Panadol Cold Tablet into two.
