Anyway... Regarding your CONCERN(s)...

1. It's ok for me to continue my 'discussion' with you. I just thought it'll be better if I just close the thread because (a) I thought it'll save both of us alot of 'energy' for doing for constructive things... (b) I was worried about another 'flame war' which might start in the same thread... REGARDLESS of whether you're pulling the others to be involved...

2. My primary reasons to be in AA (Aunt Agony) would be...

(i) To help those who is worth of my help.

(ii) To moderate the forum.

So it is of my responsibility and concern that no 'flame war' should arise. May it be ANY forum mate, not excluding myself. I hope to keep this place a CONSTRUCTIVE one. For people who really need it. The LAST thing I would like to see is for people to have nowhere to turn to... Put off by topics they see in here...

Last but not least... Something personal... Since you've so gladly started this topic for me... (though this kinda topic is not encouraged in AA) I don't mind 'entertaining' you... In view of the following conditions....

1. Please remember my 1st two priorities in this forum.
2. When I'm not too tired.
3. When I'm not in too bad a mood?
4. Should this thread threaten to grow into a FLAME WAR... YUP... You'll be RIGHT on your last point.... I won't hesitate to CLOSE this thread... Cool

Another FACT you've gotta to LEARN... There're NOTHING WRONG with ASSUMPTIONS.... In fact, your life is FULL of them... eg. When you wanna go catch an appointment with a friend. You think take MRT can reach less than 20 mins... And appointment's time is 30 mins later... You KNOW you can reach there within less than 20 mins... But IN FACT you're ONLY ASSUMING it....? You might be caught late if the MRT breaks down... Or maybe some other events might happen....

The PROBLEM you're trying to DIG from my post should be GROUNDLESS ASSUMPTIONS.... It's these which people find hard to swallow... And like I'd discussed with Ric... MOST cases USUALLY falls between groundless assumptions and concrete evidence (which actually hardly exist...)..... Rendering them SUBJECTIVE.

And given the ASSUMPTION I was making, I personally don't find it hard to swallow at all? In a normal Newtonian world, CAUSE & EFFECTs are at play... It would seems VERY UNLIKELY that a bf would just yell at a gf in public FOR NOTHING. Hence, my ASSUMPTION in other words would be it's ALMOST USUALLY.... Not 100% but of HIGH LIKELIHOOD.....

UNLESS of course the bf is an EXTREME bad-nature guy who would go to the extreme of yelling at his gf for NOTHING... Which would also render him VERY CLOSE to the 2nd possibility.... A COMPLETE LUNATIC...

Now what i'm trying to say is, i don't know the 2 of them..i don't know if there's any story behind the whole thing (becasue i don't
assume), but my initial response to such a scene of a bf yelling at a gf (and please take note, based on what the poster has said..its a case of bf yelling at gf and gf was crying, without retaliation in any form and NOT A CASE OF COUPLE YELLING AND SHOUTING AT EACH OTHER) has to be anger isn't it.

Please refer to the above... I also mentioned it doesn't have to be the only response... Though I agreed with you that it's probably gonna be a NORM.

There are things which we should ponder beyond the surface, but
there are also situations where it just isn't possible. You said.."THE LOGIC HERE IS TO KEEP YOUR EMOTIONS IN CHECK." Well this is because you already have the assumption that THERE IS A STORY BEHIND THE WHOLE THING (point out any part of your post which you suggest there might not be any), and so without knowing the story, we shouldn't make any conclusions. All these, based on your assumptions (if the 6 areas which i highlighted is sufficient) that there IS a story behind.
