I keep getting mailers asking me to donate money to the poor
hunger-stricken folks over there at Africa. Those images of
bone-thin starving people really makes my heart ache. I would
really like to take out some money and donate it to them, but every
time, I'll hesitate.
Will constant donation of money to the needy in these Third World
countries really help them?
I thought it would only make them more dependent on donations and
foreign help. In my opinion in such situations the root of the
problem has to be resolved, and donating money to buy food for them
certainly doesn't help.
I think they probably need more help in becoming independent, like
using new methods of agriculture so they can grow their own food
and the like.
So hmmm what do you all think?
