NBA star Nash fancies buying into
Tottenham

NBA basketball star Steve Nash has expressed interest about
investing in Tottenham.
The Times says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reported to be willing
to sell his stake for the right price. Nash, the most valuable
player in the National Basketball Association for the past two
seasons, is the son of British parents and a Tottenham fan.
The Phoenix Suns point guard has earned more than $100 million
(about £52 million) in basic playing salary during his career and
the NBA's leading passer wants to play a key role in any potential
takeover of Tottenham.
"If someone were to come in to buy Spurs, I would like to be
involved and partner them," the Canadian said. "Obviously, it would
have to make sense for all parties, but, as a fan, it appears to me
that Spurs are quite profitable and Premiership football teams are
obviously becoming a popular investment for businessmen from all
over the world."
Nash's Dad, John, was a semi-professional footballer around London
before emigrating to Canada and Nash has owned a British passport
all his life. The basketball star proudly has a photograph taken of
him with Glenn Hoddle, his childhood hero, and counts a number of
the world's leading footballers as friends, including Thierry
Henry, Alessandro Del Piero and his fellow Canadian, Owen
Hargreaves. Nash has also recently struck up a friendship with
Damien Comolli, the Tottenham sporting director.
"I met Damien at the World Cup last summer when I was watching
England play and we have stayed in touch since," Nash said. "In
fact, my dad and grandfather are going to be guests of his at White
Hart Lane when Spurs play Bolton Wanderers this
weekend."
