i have a friend, ORD 3-4 mths ago, we always hang out as a
group, i just know him on normal terms, not bery close, not bery
distant, we meet around 2-3 times wk, whether nua coffeeshop or jus
go out..
My gf is in a company where the directors are partners, my gf's
boss own the admin side while his partner own the technical side,
recently they fell out and the partner left with his tech dept as
all employment of the tech staff was under him, my gf boss then
wanted to setup his own tech dept to continue, thus having lotsa
vacancies
my this friend has some technical knowledge in installations such
as wiring,drilling and such, since he been jobless for few months n
he seem like the steady type i decide to intro him there,
hes a seconday 3 drop out, expected salary he put 1.3k, accepted
and boss mention if performance is good, can expect pay raise, 1st
day of work he did really well, his supervisor is very happy wif
him. this was the first day of work
2nd day of work at, morning 11am, my gf was summon into boss office
together with the supervisor, my gf was qustioned coz my friend did
not turn up for work, then when asked for feedback, his supervisor
say he has shown gd performance and quite a gd knowledge in
technical skills, the boss is a nice mild tempered person, he
mention since hes capable of the job we will give him pay raise and
we will groom him to be a foreman in charge of workers, not many
jobs gives u promotion on the 2nd day but this is an exception as
previously there were 3-4 foreman under the other partner, but now
they have left n theres onli one foreman left, his promotion is
immenient..
i call up my friend but no ans, i call up another friend who was
wif him last nite this fella scolded me, he say y i cheat this guy
by introducing him to work
i was blur when he used the word "cheated"
he say my friend complained that the job is tough and 1.2k is like
not worth the money, i told him if he feels money not enuff, no
harm speakin to the boss ,its not an easy job to work outdoors
under the sun, the boss did tell him his pay is not finalise yet
but his 1.3k expected pay is accepatable, which means there room
for a raise also ,sommore now they r going to promote him
anyway
he say my friend felt cheated coz not onli he gotta do
installation, he gotta do painting and welding as well, which makes
it 3 jobs, so he must get x3 pay, minimum also must get 2k
plus
this sounded absurd to me, sec 2 drop out asking for 2 k plus
salary ? no offence to pple here but i personally feel its already
gd enuff for a diploma holder to get 1.6k as a starting pay, now
highest qualification is onli PSLE n hes asking 2k odd?
does tat mean i do admin , sweep the floor and sometime run some
errand for the company, does tat mean i get admin, cleaner and
despatch pay?
some things are all part of a days work
i strongly emphasize to this 3rd party guy that the pay is
definetly neg n he should on his own go ask for it, even if he dun
ask for it, an promotion and raise is on its way also..
my gf called me n ask me how, i said perhaps he just overslept ,
help him say abit of gd things, the boss is bery understanding n
said its ok coz its his first day yesterday and perhaps hes not
used to the working style, let him rest today but make sure 2molo
he turn up, the boss also replied hes bery happy wif my friend work
performance, with this i was happy coz everything gonna be ok,
later this friend call up n say he dun feel like working anymore as
the job is too tough n put down the fone
in this kind of econmic scene, must one really be so choosy?
jobless for 2-3 mths n still taking things for granted..
got my gf into trouble n i got into trouble wif my gf
i help someone get a job and i been called a cheat
