Part 9 Telephone

It was 11 plus at night. I am looking at the clock and waiting for his call.
I was supposed to go to a countdown party with my friends, but after Sky
called, I decided not to go and went straight home.

My hp finnally rang. Just as what I've been thinking, it was sky. I was so
excited and anxious till nearly speechless..

Lynn: hi.....
Sky:"Sorry Lynn, called you up so late"
Lynn: No...nothing is ok...
Sky: Merry Christmas!~
Lynn: You too...
Sky: How are you nowadays ?
Lynn: Why did you suddenly appear again ?
Sky: ....you not happy to hear from me again?
Lynn: No.. i am just surprised..
Sky: Sorry I did not contact you for months as I had something very important to do.
Lynn: I know..you are busy with your homework...
Sky: Lynn, I did not have time to call you as I can't even use the phone. My parents had been
very strict to me after they knew about you. THey had kept my phone away even..
Lynn: huh me??what you talking ? your parents know me meh?
Sky: ah nah...cos' that time I refused to go Australia and I told them is because i don't wana leave
you....they forced me to go after hearing that..
Lynn: Sky, I think you must understand one thing. For your age now, if you can study, go ahead..don't
say becos of me you don go study or wat.. in future you will regret for sure.. not many people can afford to go
overseas to study ...you know...
Sky: Ya i know lar.....but I really don't wana leave you mah..
Lynn: Is it....then how did you manage to come singapore now ?
sky: I.....actually run away from home......I refuse to attend my lectures to rebel my parents. They had stopped
my credit cards and only gave me money when I go to school.
Lynn: What? !! Sky...you are wrong....how can you do this... No...you better go back to your parents...
Sky: No ...since I already in this route, i am not going back anymore..Lynn, i can only trust you now..
Lynn: .........how you manage to come to Singapore ? Did they follow you ?
Sky: I sold all my valuable things..my playstation, my discman and my watch...some of my limited stamp collection.
Then I managed to have enough money to buy tickets to Singapore.
Lynn: oh my goodness..those are your favourites.....
Sky: No choice..I really miss you.....
Lynn: Sky...so where are you living now in Singapore?
Sky: I am currently at my friend's house.. tomorrow he will introduce me to work in factory.
Lynn: what? you wana work ???you wana continue like this forever ?go back to your parents and tolerate for 2 years and
you can choose to do what you like wat... why so stubborn!?~
Sky: I like to do what I like..so that's why I left. Don't you understand..They even matchmake me over there..want me to
get married so that I can take over their business.
Lynn: Your parents think for you what.. you are their only son.. of course they like that mah..
Sky: don't talk about this...Lynn...how you celebrate christmas??
Lynn: Why can't you listen to me? for once..go back to Australia and study..
Sky: No... my mind is set...
Lynn: I had no mood to celebrate xmas..
Sky: i see..lor..if tml the interview ends early or if they never ask me to start work or maybe after I work finish, I celebrate
with you ok?
Lynn: Anything...i am not celebrating with anyone anyway..
Sky: Lynn.....my friends had all left me..please don't leave me also..
Lynn: No I won't leave you..but seriously speaking..i am really worried about you.. now you are all alone in Singapore without your
family support.How can you withstand all the hard times..??
sky: I can. I will be working soon to support myself..
Lynn: Living by yourself is not easy don be stupid lar..
Sky: i know is not easy but i will try to be independent..
Lynn: Anyway.. now you already make your decision..i can't stop you..by the way.have you eaten yet ??
Sky: ........no...........later I will cook myself..
Lynn: cook wat?Maggie mee ahh don tell me..
sky: ya.......
Lynn: Wow kao..canot lar..maggie mee not healthy...go buy some food to eat...lar..
SKy: No more money left to buy.....
Lynn: What ??! you mean you only had enough money to come all the way to singapore ?
Sky: No..i still got a bit left..but I can eat maggie mee one lar..dn worry lar...its fast to cook wat.i like to eat maggie mee wat..
Lynn: Aiya..anything lar..I dono what to say......but ..you must take care..anything you need me for help, you can approach me..
Sky: What you had just said is already a support to me......
Lynn: then you slep ealry lor..tomorrow you got to wake up early right ?
sky: Why? you don't like to talk to me ahh??
Lynn: No.. I do this for your own good wat..wait tomorrow you not awake kana sack before you gt employed..
Sky: orh......
Lynn: ok guai lar..go sleep ok...don't think so much..
SKy: yes Lau po.....
Lynn: you siao ahh..who's your lau po? nonsense..
Sky: ok lar..gd nite.you also go sleep early ok?
Lynn: ok..nite..bye.
Sky: bye..

I hanged up first..I had lots of thoughts after hanging up. I felt Sky has becomed a changed person. He's not the one I loved anymore..I can
feel it...Or is it the problem lies with me? how come the way I talk to him seems to be like a normal friend..to me......I better don't think so much..
I am so tired..I don't wana think anymore....is too much of things and sudden to think about..all these..

Part 10 Christmas Day

Christmas Day is always a peaceful day for me every year. This year seems to have change for me. I felt troubled and worried for Sky. The whole day I spend all my time staring at the numerous interesting TV shows blankly. Just as I was about to get up to bath, I received a message from Sky. He said that he had managed to get the factory job. I felt happy for him but also sad for him as he had to bear the tough times starting from now. *sign..

*my hp rings* and it was sky.
Sky: hi lynn,
Lynn: yes..
Sky: I managed to get the job. I can survived on my own now.
Lynn: come on is just the beginning. Anyway, congratulations.
Sky: Lynn, I got a favour to ask from you.
Lynn: yes.you say see.if I can help you....
Sky: Can I borrow some money from you? I promise I will return you when I get my pay. I really had no one to turn to.
Lynn: .............but i don have much.how much do you need ?
Sky: s$500
Lynn: WAT?! why you suddenly need so much money? you need to buy air ticketS again?
Sky: I need it to pay my bills and I can't impose on my friend paying for my food every day. Please believe me. I will pay you as soon as I get my pay. No one can help me now.
Lynn: ...........ok...
Sky: SO you promise to lend me?Great! Lynn you are the best. Can you deposit it to my account XXXXXXXXXXXX.?
Lynn: ok.
Sky: Can you deposit it today?
Lynn: what so fast?
Sky: please. I haven't even eaten today.
Lynn: ok..
Sky: now can ???
Lynn: Don't you think it will be faster if you meet me today?
Sky: No. today I can't . I got to work OT cos got more pay.
Lynn: ok......
Sky: Thanks so much...Lynn I will repay your kindness....Lynn merry christmas... I got to go back work...cya
Lynn: bye..

Am I doing the right thing for lending him money?? but no one can help him now..as a friend, i should help him with all I can...
Looking at my account...left S$550 for the month....I transferred 500 to him and look at the 2 digits left in my account. Perhaps I got to work more OT this month...

That night, Sky message me thank you when I was sleeping....it was 4 plus AM .....he really work till so late? just can't believe it.....I had a bad feeling .........

Part 11 As a Friend..

After that day, Sky seems to message me everyday and each message was so warm. I felt nothing and even felt disgusted. where has all my feelings gone to??I really don't like him anymore ? but why/>? because he has changed or because of the time passed..??didn't i said no matter how far or how long, i will still love him?Oh my goodness...I really donno what to do now...............

That day I went out with Edward. Since the time when May introduce me to him, we have slowly build up our friendship. He's always be on my side and support me. He's very nice to me but I have always like Sky. I told Edward about Sky. He always listened to me patiently. He's really a great buddy. After a day's outing with him, I felt that I am better. Oh gosh..don't tell me I have fall in love with Edward instead??cos of time spent with him mostly?? no canot be..I just take him as my best friend...thats why I feel better....Anyway, now i really felt better when i do not love anyone..the feeling is free now..

My hp rang suddenly. It was Sky..
Sky: Hi Lynn
Lynn: Hi how are you/??
Sky: I am in the hospital now..
Lynn: What? how come?
Sky: I was hurt by the machine when working just now..
Lynn: Oh my goodness.Are you ok?
SKy: Lynn..Can you lend me some money again as I need to pay my hospitalise fees and also I may lose my job after this...I need some money for the time being..
Lynn: but Sky i really had no money now...
Sky: you don't wana help me??you see me in this situation..and I am all alone..so helpless.. please help me.....
Lynn: SKy please..dont say lidat..ok i tried to help you..how much do you need now??which hospital are you in?
Sky: I am in NUH. I need to get out of here quickly so that I can look for another job as soon. Can you lend me 500$ more ?
Lynn: WHat?!~ but i have no more money...why dont you go back to your parents??...After I lend you that day,,...I got not much left...How to lend you another 500$ more?
Sky: please help me lynn..i know you got your way..
Lynn: ok i see what I can do..You stay put there..I will reach there 2 hours later..
Sky: ok..thanks lynn..I really touched by what you had done for me..
Lynn: As a friend, I will sure try to help.
Sky: Thanks...
Lynn: ok bye........

Sky has really become so desperate for money now.. Am i spoiling him this way..??I kept having a bad feeling..but i just can't stop help him...hes alone .......how can I throw my friend away..

Now..the first one to look for help is Edward. He didnt ask me the reason and agreed to lend me..Perhaps he really trust me alot.. but to Sky, I dont really had the same feeling as Edward to me..but what can i do.Friends got problem, sure must help wat...

I took a bus to NUH and saw ....Sky standing already standing at the bus stop. His hand was bangaged....i looked at him sadly...even his appearance changed..I can't even recognise him....

Actually I doubt anyone from would know me from any IRC channel, coz firstly it's only on those very very very rear occasions that I will go onto IRC, in fact I have not done it for the past year or so... Secondly, my IRC nick is totally different from this one that I use. Used to use "Zippy", "Funny" only on even fewer occasions I will use "Bear". That's becoz of the reason I can't use "zippy" when I sign up for this forum, and use "Bear" because of my hph cover then.. ehhehe~

Don't you find it hypocritical to post your friend's story here and treating it like some kind of suspense story to get ppl coming to followup and comment? Some unhappy experiences aren't exactly nice to reveal...it's like betraying her or washing her dirty linen in public, I'll be ashamed if I were your friend Fericia. I confided in you and told you what happened to me but you posted every detail in a public forum to gain attention and probably hoping to hit a very flaming thread.

If your friend wishes to get advice from forumnites, she can post her problem or pour out her sorrows here herself at her own discretion.

Moreover, now that you said you have broken up with your boyfriend, it shows that you aren't exactly the stable sort in love or matured enough yet. Fit to talk about your friend in public like this?
