have patience, how old are you now anyway???
If you have left school, there are generally less or no activities
inplace specially to force you to mix with ur peers, and u must
thus take the initiative, although thats often easier said than
done. Suggest u keep a lookout at gatherings like friends weddings,
BBQ outings, chalet sleepovers, christmas parties, general
gathering with friends, etc. . .and when you start talking remember
to ask for some form of contact information for future use. . .
If you are still in school, opportunities abound (most of the time
anyway, though not for me, I'm in a boys school, no girls 
. . .)
