The more you try to aviod making mistakes in life, the more
prone you are to commit them.
I usually don't agree with moi parents but there's something they
said which makes a lot sense:
" Love by itself might not be the best reason for 2 pple to become
a couple...Love is not enough; a successful marriage will require
mutual affection,similar expectations,shared values. Love's only a
small part of it"
(Quoted by moi Dad when I insisted that I loved my girlfriend and
wanted to marry her)
So in short, dump those stupid theories about "what your gal might
want from you" and ask yourself...Are you capable of staying with
her forever(taking into account all other aspects other than your
love for that gal).
And ask her to do the same thing.
