Story of a monk and apprentice

A monk and his apprentice are walking and they saw a maiden calling for help. Seeing that she had sprained her ankle badly, the monk offered to carry her in his arms and send the maiden back.

The apprentice was shocked but remained speechless all the way. The maiden got back home and thanked the monk.

After half a day, the apprentice asked, "Why did you carry the maiden that closely?" and the monk replied "Why are you still carrying the thoughts with you after such a long time?"

Dwelling too much on the past incidents causes stress in your life. It is the danger of leaning backwards too much in your life and not advancing forwards in your life.

it is suppose to mean tt some ppl do things and when its over, they can let go while some others (ppl who are not involved in the thing) keep dwelling on it

this quote like not right leh...

tot its suppose to tell ppl that if u r doing things out of righteou, u wunt be having non-righteous thought of that act...

jus like the little monk... his tot is only on contact with the lady, instead of helping the lady... so even if he is not carrying the lady closely, his tot of contact with the lady is a sin to his religious liaw...

unlike the mature monk, his tot is simply helping, contact is no longer existing in his mind, he is no longer bothered by lust...

so think the story is telling us something like that... isn't it??
