Is David James A Better GK Than Jose Reina This Season ?

weiqimun SG

GP/CBL,
i got to give it to u.....u really got nothin better to do that to compare the 2.

u got no credibility to compare or poll....all your remarks are lop-sided, painfully myopic, and lack substance. u cut and paste from known source and add a one liner to accentuate your inability to put a point across. yr football knowledge is restricted to tribal-what's-the-website pukes. and u give chel$ki a bad name....

now i got a question for u; do u know what an offside is?

HyuugaNeji SG

James is better now. He made too many mistakes in the past. But if james goes back to liverpool, he will feel very pressured and make blunders again.

Lehmann is the best.

Law 11 - Offside

Offside Position

It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position.

A player is in an offside position if:
he is nearer to his opponents goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent
A player is not in an offside position if:
he is in his own half of the fi eld of play or
he is level with the second last opponent or
he is level with the last two opponents
Offence

A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:

interfering with play or
interfering with an opponent or
gaining an advantage by being in that position
No Offence

There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from:

a goal kick or
a throw-in or
a corner kick
Infringements/Sanctions

For any offside offence, the referee awards an indirect free kick to the opposing team to be taken from the place where the infringement occurred.

Decisions of the International F.A. Board

Decision 1

In the definition of offside position, "nearer to his opponents goal line" means that any part of his head, body or feet is nearer to his opponents goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent. The arms are not included in this definition.

Decision 2

The definitions of elements of involvement in active play are as follows:

Interfering with play means playing or touching the ball passed or touched by a team-mate.

Interfering with an opponent means preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponents line of vision or movements or making a gesture or movement which, in the opinion of the referee, deceives or distracts an opponent.

Gaining an advantage by being in that position means playing a ball that rebounds to him off a post or the crossbar having been in an offside position or playing a ball that rebounds to him off an opponent having been in an offside position.

if you think i watch soccer for like 1 year+ i don't even know offside rule think again

Poolman SG

James is better because of one game ( Against Tottenham ) ? Then i concede , cos i can't back-up with any stats link to LFC .

Or from since the beginning of the season ? Then LFC fans have a case here ! With Proof !!!

For the whole of the season ? From August ? Only Premiership games ? or Cup runs as well ?

Still not convince of stats from Soccernet ?

Clean sheet record u want ?

Just a "YES" or "NO" ! Can clean sheets record prove or determine which goal-keeper is good or better ??

I had prove that with stats that Reina had more clean sheets than James ?

I rest my case !

P/S : Thanks for informing me that someone is talking about me in here . Wink

Poolman SG

Classic example of different people has their different view in terms of the team's defense .

Poolman SG

Anyway so far , Liverpool shaky defense this season luckily escape only 16 goals into the net .

Pompey not so lucky , kena 22 goals into the net , lucky James' good or their defense good , or plain unlucky , whatever "neutral" fans say , or else kena double . Mr. Green

I am happy anyway , my lousy 'keeper concede 16 goals , with shaky defense , with blunders , and with 12 clean sheets .

At the meantime , let me go round the net , in search for Reina's performance for all-competition , EPL , Carling Cup , Charity Shield , UCL , FA Cup , etc.... and consolidate the points he earn on each match basis , and contra with jame's all-competition ratings .....

maybe that will be more convincing ....

anybody think my stats is crap ?

I don't like stats ... they never lie .

I hate stats ... they'll make those who don't believe them embarassed .

I dislike stats ... they are always ahead of crap .

Poolman SG

Now i know why Durai that fella conceded to that Shamugan Lawyer . Laughing

weiqimun SG

poolman,
i dun think u need to quote all the stats to the thread starter. that chap doesn't get it.

he sees wht he wants to see...

Poolman SG

Laughing ALRIGHT ....

Poolman SG

Just like one scenario ...........

If one had done miraculously good for their prelimaries exam in schools for the "o" levels , like all A* ....sekali after the "0" levels , he scored all A* and one A , and can't make the grade into say ... National Junior College , u can't just go to MOE and tell them .... I did spendid on my prelims , everybody say i am good for NJC ....... will MOE listen ?

It's the datas and records , the end-result that matters , not just what people said about u .

ghimpheng SG

how can u judge a goalkeeper base on goal conceded and clean sheets ???

we all know that shay given and casilas is 2 really good keeper but their defence are not helping them

same case for david james this season he has really been awesome

you need to watch the match rather than STATS of goal condeded and clean sheets as defence play a part too

the keeper that man utd signed Tomas.K was also a good keeper but west brom defence are not helping him

when man utd sign him it was not shocking for me @ all as he is a good keeper

ghimpheng SG

Shay given did excellent in the match Tottenham 2 - 3 Newcastle

but if judging by the goals conceded u can jolly well assume that shay given is lousy

buf if u watch the match u know that Tottenham could have score 4 or 5 more goals

paul robinson is really overrated he is just an average keeper or worse than average

dragg SG

dont most fans behave that way? believing in what they want to believe and ignoring what they dont.

ghimpheng SG

just like when Ronaldo clearly dived against boro and only a few man utd fan admitted that he did even my friend a man utd friend admitted that Ronaldo dive

but most fans refuse to accept that he had dive instead of blaming the keeper for triping him which the keeper did not contact him @ all
