It’s a sticky situation. If someone does put words in your mouth
by telling lies to your friends or people whom you know, if they
know you well, it shouldn’t be a problem. However, most likely he
would tell the lies to people whom he knows, or to people who
doesn’t like you, or even worst, to people who don’t know you,
thereby poisoning any chance of you making friends with them. It’s
really a sticky situation and what can you do? Nothing. Defending
yourself would be really tiring and useless most of the time.
