Helmets: How do you like it?

Do you like to wear tight, just nice or a little loose?

I got one a little loose and it is airy when I ride....but I dun feel that is is quite safe.
Got another one fitting but I perspires a lot of it became smelly very soon.

I see ppl wearing the wrong sizes but they like it.
A few of my fds like it a little loose bcoz it not so hot, and does not leave any marks on the side of your face.

Used to have an Arai SZ RAM...very good helmet. Used for a few years.
But lost it when my wife went for dinner with me....knn she forgot abt it when we left the table at Kovan hawker centre.

Heart pain....$360 fly away....

Now got a MHR one which looks similar...but nothing beats the logo ARAI SZ RAM.

its not tht well cushioned if u tried shoei b4. in fact got some cheapo brands also got gd cushions

nope, a european study has shown tht arai is actually ranked num 6 among the brands ard.

shoei is ranked num 1 & ranked num 2 is the suprising korean made HJC

hmmm

depending on my mood. when its just a short trip, i use my MHR open face.

otherwise i'll use the Arai RX-7 full face.

Basically i like helmets to be fitting. the ventilation for the arai is not bad. heard good reviews about Shoei, but i don't quite like their designs.

it really depends on the factor u r looking for.

for eg, ur frens r rite tht its not so hot but have they ever considered the protection it provides? a helmet tht is fitted nicely provides the max protection & comfort. they want cooling? get on with proper air vents Very Happy

when u buy helmets, the right size is actually a little bit tight, when u wear it, try to move the helmet right & left without moving ur head, it shld have minimal allowance for movement.

hhhmmm, maybe u get wear those bandanas or even those covers so tht ur cushions won't smell so fast?

hehe, i feel the opp for shoei & arai. i tink the designs for shoei r more realistic compared to arai, arai like cartoon like tht

I use a cheapo full face or a open face for local use & my X11 for overseas.

might be getting the HJC full carbon fibre helmet when i got the bucks again Twisted Evil but got to get some reviews of the helmet during high speed, really satisfied with my X11 during high speed

I actually got two MHR helmet, one XL and one L size for my new bike.
Initially I tried XL and found it not tight, so I tot it is more airy. L size was for my wife.
I specially ordered my XL in plain white colour, with no marking or design at all.
But after wearing the XL for a week, I felt uncomfortable as it is actually loose and the sides are not gripping my head tight.
Regret but what am I supposed to do with it... Sad

Its still very new so feel like selling...but its special order plain white Neutral

hhhmm, maybe u can check with the pple at chap lee (i asume u bought it from there) to find out whether the XL & L r using the same shell size? tht means if its the same, the XL is actually using a thinner cushion, so u can jus change to the thicker L cushion lor
