got my license for 2 years already.. clean record all the way..
was driving down lim chu kang rd, the 4 lane(70km/h) road..
got captured on the portable speed detector at a speed of 116km/h
which is over shoot by 46km/h ...
actually my top speed i saw was 130km/h.... HENG ah..kena catch at 116 only... if 130 ... den i dont know liao lor.

the tp stop me den take my license and check and so on.. den go and record on the PDA... den tell me is confirm court case... den after that ask me y i go so fast... den i say my friend waiting for me outside camp.. den i going to fetch him 12++ already.. he say unless really emergency case den he can help help abit... den in the end he say dont worry so much ... only will kena fine ... the license will not kena kan-tong.. den now i waiting for court date...

the letter come once liao... say i kena 12demirit points and ask me to go court 1...

Court 21 is a like a zoo…crowded like crazy and lots of people waiting to get charged. The traffic police who caught you on his way to year end bonus…

1st time offender - Fine not exceeding $1,000 or jail sentence of up to 6 months or both.
2nd or subsequent conviction - Fine not exceeding $2,000 or jail sentence of up to 12 months or both.

Can you convince the judge that the Mafia is chasing you?
Otherwise just let them process you, lah.

A full trial would mean a heavier penalty if you lose.
And will cost more than the fine anyway.

Be warned.. actually I've driven down Mandai Road at 130 a few times. Checked the online outstanding traffic offences website - none. Lucky~

Now I know why some cars / bikes crawl at 80 there. Believe they kanna before.. it's a long road, limit is at 70.

Not worth the risk IMO.. better go to a proper track to feel the need for speed. And.. better to arrive late than never.

Me goin around 150-160km/h on a stretch somehere rural as my friend is late for appointment.. n then I started slow down...but suddenly a police car just appeared from opposite direction. And the police turn the car around n started chasing me Crying or Very sad Of cos I slow down..police car is faster than mine.. a V8 Holden. Police say I was going at 112km/h.. (road limit was 100km/h).. he just check my license, this n that n ask me drive safely. So lucky!!

Anyway, I think you should consider a radar/laser detector. It can help you save money and 'encourage' you to drive safely. The good brands could be like Valentine systems.

when in court, plead for leniency admit ur mistake and promise you will drive within the speed limit next time. DO NOT try to make up story or put the blame on something or someone or try to be wau lan else u get heavier fine.

bro, prepare for a fine ard $1.5k and then if u r lucky and then they don't revoke yr licence than the max demerit point is 18 point for speed above 40 and less than 59km. Yr case is almost the same as my friend b4 in 2003

Was there any evidence of you being snaped by camera on that day? or was it only the eyes of the TP?

If the eyes of TP.. u can fight your case by first writing into Traffic Police. Firstly.. telling them you never go till sooo fast as mentioned by the police.. (which can help you lower your fine if possible) and that you are rushing someone back to camp cause is too late ready.. Something like that.. if really cannot.. than LL lor.

i saw the radar device myself... and the speed was recorded on it..116km/h

done my research... 47km/h is within the 40-50km/h overshoot limit..
which is -12 demerit points... and a fine of less den 1k for first time offenders..

most of the past offenders usually get a fine of 600-900 buckz.. depending on the judge's mood..

well few more days to go b4 i appear in court... wish me luck..
