Hi,

Does anyone here know if Harley Davidson bikes are fuel guzzlers compared to bikes of other makes with similar engine capacity?

Oh and where can I find listings for 2nd hand harleys?

There are not much bikes with a similar displacement to harley's (i am talking about the 88B V-twins - 1449cc) So, you can't really compare, there are only a few makes that are v-twins, like Ducatis. but according to my friend, he said that his fat boy is quite fuel efficient...

Anyway you can check Yahoo! auctions or classified for 2nd hand Harleys, if not , you can make a trip to Turf-city - Sunhog, a 2nd-hand harley dealer.

I am not a Harley Owner Yet, but in a matter of months, yes.... Very simple, most harley owners gather @ Handlebar which is situated near/by Alexandra, opposite BP towers. There is more then HOG in SG, Ghost Riders MC, Red Devils MC, Warpigs MC... these are the few SG's Motorcycle clubs in SG...

I currently own a normal cruiser, a honda TA200 Phantom.. Counting 1mths 15 days before enrolling for my class 2... Anyway wat bike are you riding?? If you want, you can always join me on most Fridays where I go Pitstop and Handlebar....

So, where are you currently studying at?? Care to do a intro??

Well I've finished my studies. Just waiting for NS now. Nah I don't ride a bike got no license yet. But I'm looking forward to a Harley. I always get so excited when I hear one those THUNDER past. Well i wouldn't mind going to Handlebar or Pitstop with you if you don't mind giving me a lift there. Laughing Actually up till now, I haven't really been on a bike other than the time my neighbour gave me a short ride on his Harley Sportster 1200 for the length of the carpark.

Hi ppl, for me im riding a cbr 400 fireblade. Well, I’m considering getting a 2nd hand Haya or a 2nd hand Sportster as the prices are not too far off… Reli am getting a headache on wh to get… care to offer any advice about their adv n disadv?? Ur opinions would be most welcomed, Cheers!

Well, if you change yer current fireblade to a sportster, first thing first, there are a few models of sportsters..Which model?? The model will define yer foot control.. E.g A 2003 Sportster Sport has mid-foot control for a more sporty posture and a 2003 Sportster Custom has forward-foot controls for a cruising down the boulevard look..... The torque for the sportster is scary i would say...but I think the haya would beat the sportster flat... But of course you can't compare a sports-tourer to a cruiser...

Cons: Only this year 2004, sportster starts to have the engine rubber mounted to reduce vibrations... so most 2nd hand sportster should be heck of a "shake"... Don't expect your harley sportster to be loud if you are not willing to spend money to mod the bike e.g Slip-ons, Screamin' Eagle Air Filter.....

Adv: Sportster is the cheapest and lightest harleys and have similar handling to its big brothers, the Dynas and Softails

I can only give you some advice on Harleys as I know little on sports bike

I would say that it not difficult to get the license, but it will take time, and not to forget, you must wait 1 year for class 2A then another year for class 2..It is heck of a long time...A harley never fails to excite me...The thundering exhaust note is too sweet... I never sat on a sportster before.. But only sat on a heritage softail once.. Anyway, if you want me to bring you along to handlebar or pitstop, it shouldn't be a problem.. Email me [email protected]
