what should I do with my bike?

I got a little problem here. I am going oversea to work for a whole year. The bike is a TW200, which I can hardly sell. Anyway, It's a faithful bike in good condition, which I can hardly bear to part with. I actually prepare to extend its COE when it is due next year. But I am wondering if it would be ok if I leave it untouched for a year, will there be any problem? I know probably I have to suck out all the petrol. Anymore suggestion? And also, is it ok if I leave my bike with friends in JB, so as to save on parking fees? Will there be any problem with regards to the law? (not sure if there's a law prohibiting this) Suggestions and comments are utmost welcomed.

u no nd to pump out all the petrol….. ur tank wil rust if no petrol inside…. if u got fren stayin in a pte property, u can put ur bike there…. or if u got fren open workshop, u can lay-out up bike…. btw u can lay-out ur bike… bt ur bike must park in a pte property or workshop

You can lay-up with LTA, so that you don't have to pay the road tax for the period when u are not using your bike on the road.

Not advisible to drain out the petrol in the fuel tank cost it will get rusty inside.
Another thing to take note is that yor tyre will crack or melt if it is not utilise and the air will escape if it has not been move for a long period of time.

btw, you really not going to sell your bike? coz i might be interested to get a TW200.

Thanks for your interest, I am still kinda hard to part with the bike. By the way, laying up only saves on road tax, how about vehicle inspection and insurance?

you need not apply for insurance as the bike will not be on road for that year ...

For inspection , i think you have to send for inspection once you get the bike back on road ...

Not really sure ... never lay up before ...

i suggest you dismantle your carb, ensure your fuel tank is properly sealed and keep your bike in a dry place.
other wise you're gonna return to a rusting pile of scrape.

u're gonna need new tyres too when you return.
