Flight Cadet Officer SG usually i just clean those areas with reach of my fingers. coz the carbon always build up again on the rims after a trip or so.
jacobs SG WD-40, just use it earlier to clean the sand, chain oil and dirt mixture layer off my bike's tyre rim. Spray sparingly and wipe off.
