They may talk it up through the press, but Manchester United boss
Sir Alex Ferguson and Chelsea's Jose Mourinho remain the best of
friends ahead of this week's big showdown.
The pair dined out in London on Friday night, served up a feast by
celebrity chef Gary Rhodes, at his London restaurant Rhodes
24.
Ferguson is a patron of Shine, a charity which helps people with
learning difficulties and their families. And he had been hoping to
arrange a dinner with his Chelsea counterpart to auction off for
some time.
Shine chief executive Stephen Shields told the People: "Sir Alex
phoned our chair man Jim O'Neill some months ago to tell him he was
hoping to invite Jose to dinner but was waiting for the right
time.
"He asked him towards the end of last season and Jose agreed.
"We auctioned the night, which we called 'A Dinner With Genius', in
June - Friday was the night we got everyone together.
"We are thrilled at the success and were additionally thrilled that
Jose, on top of the work Alex does for us, was able to give us some
of his time."
Also at the dinner were 12 guests, who paid a total of 130,000 for
the privilege.
