difficulty to start in the morning is normal. then when start liao must let it warm first else when u move off engine like macam wanna die, dam pissed when happen to me at junction after light turn green. it might help if u use shell v-power but i dont guarantee.
is your phantom the old TA150 wif sticker? mine is dat one, and yes sometimes engine loud. but actually loud means engine wont die when u blow wat, its when i blow then the engine get silent especially if never warm up that i scared will stall.
i do full servicing every 9000~10,000km. wash internal at my tiam cost $38. then he changed my piston link and gasket and other stuff is extra cost of watever thing he replace, but depend whether worn out or not. dont ask me how u tell if worn out, but i know after 9000km when my engine idle will stall easily due to carbon build-up dats why send for cleaning. else i just change 4t every 3000 and spark plug every 6000km.

1 month about 1800km
can consider quite high mileage liao

i got mine FS plate, 1.5 yrs old when i bought it, the mileage only 22K. so around there lar....

i tink can buy lar... jus prepare 200 bucks more for a major servicing of all the engine parts.
Block, piston, piston ring, valve, carburetor
change the air filter
ask the mech to retune the carb

best if can change the chain n sprockets, front n rear tires, battery, brake pads, etc
AND u have a gd condition bike!!

Aiya, finally can login liao, unable to do so ever since they change the outlook. Confused
To all Ta 200, how fast do you all travel on the average, cause i find that 80-90 is the comfortable speed for this bike, once i hit 100 the engine like going to expolde like that, so just trying to find out the max speed you're tried on Ta200. thanks Very Happy

Mine is a FR plate is '99 manufactured, 3 yrs=43000 km
Everyday travel to and fro from work is about 50km.

FQ TA 150. total mileage around 29000. reaching 30000 already. purely transport bike only. all previous owners also treat it as transport bike. Razz but tires still irc. anyone know where to change cheap but good tires for phantom.

oh, i went to the shop along upp paya lebar rd towards upp serangoon rd, somewhere opp bethany presby church, the only bike shop along that stretch of rd. the 2 guys there not bad, friendly, skills wise, ok, cause only done normal service like oil change, see la, in a few weeks time i will go for oil change again and wash my carberettor, then i tell u their skills lor, by the way, where u live, and we female rider tried to contact u but cant get u leh, wats your email add? i changed my tires to tubeless from the original irc tubed. front tyre shinko brand $55 and rear vee rubbers brand $80. motortiam along upper bukit timah road near ten mile junction just before the road becomes woodlands road. feels cheap but i worried quality may be lacking. but too late to worry bout that anyway.

yah man, bloody irc tyres, i skidded and fell twice, both occassions while banking on a wet road just after rain. and i dont have crash bars, and the phantom so heavy one time fall sure got something to replace, worst is the handlebars bent. after i changed to shinko front and vee rubbers rear, some more now wet road i ride more carefully so far ok. stay away from the white arrows. but fell once with the new tyres, but no count coz dat one is my hdb multi-story carpark wet coz rain and vehicles make floor very very wet and you know how lousy traction of hdb multi story carpark floors.

oh, regarding your reply, donno if u misread my post or wat, but i said i bought shinko and vee rubbers brand tyres, not irc. i not so stupid replace with irc tyres again Mr. Green

if you want can try Metzler ME1.. i think less than $150 for both front and rear.. heard that it’s good for straight long distance road.. not very good for cornering.. but Phantom can’t really go THAT low.. so should be ok.. been using that for months liaoz.. no problem with it.. i paid $190 for it.. think that’s about Feb or March..
