ghimpheng SG Chelsea boss Mourinho banks on Cole to take out Messi tribalfooball.com - October 29, 2006 Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is banking on Ashley Cole to take Leo Messi out of this week's Champions League tie at Barcelona. Cole, rested for Saturday's 2-0 win at Sheffield United, will be back in place of Wayne Bridge. Mourinho revealed he left out Cole at Bramall Lane because Barca were doing the same with Messi. Mourinho said: "Messi is resting. I think it was a good idea to give Ashley the same conditions."

iceFatboy SG I like the tiger beer TV advertisements, when the old man has to put on his dark glasses when he is going to do his maintenance work for Barca trophy room.. I bet he needs a flash-light when he enter Chelsea one.... Just kidding.
iceFatboy SG Chelsea on 9pts, Barca 4pts, Wbermen4pts. if Barca wins, 7pts, Wbermen wins, 7pts. And then crunch time... next round, bremen draws with Chelsea, Chelsea 10pts, Wbermen, 8pts. Barca wins, 10pts. then last round, Chelsea lose to WBermen, Chelsea 10pts, Wbermen 11pts. Barca wins again, 13pts. Chelsea OUT!!!! just a dream...
Saltiga SG you gotta be kidding, i'm sure the guy wouldn't need a flash-light cause who needs maintenance in an empty room????? joking around too!
Urroh SG I was when i see your posts. How about you know what Mourinho will be putting out against barcelona at home? Maybe be now he is away at from home. he will put out a defensive side? There a difference between away and at home in the champion league. I think you are too naive to suggest that you know what Mourinho is thinking. You can also look at Chelsea opponents to see how they will form up a formation with the players they had. A team with certain important players wont tweak too much or else mayhem may occur. Same as barcelona. This proves to us that you are biased against other team than chelsea. If barcelona keep the same formation and team used against Chelsea and Real Marid, win chelsea at home? Pls dun be so ignorant against other teams in football. It helps to keep an open mind and you maybe have friends instead of whole world against you. Pls remember barcelona beat chelsea at home in last Season Champions League.
Saltiga SG for some reason i’m wondering if its all a make up? i mean a mind game kinda thingy that Jose is trying to play, saying that all their strikers are injuried and so on but when game starts i bet at least of one the two if not both of them will turn out for Chelsea!
ghimpheng SG lame........this also mind game you surely think too much why didn't he play that mind game @ the bridge
ghimpheng SG Barcelona from: Victor Valdes; Juliano Belletti, Carles Puyol, Rafael Marquez, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Silvinho; Xavi, Edmilson, Deco; Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, Eidur Gudjohsen; Javier Saviola Chelsea from: Hilario; Paulo Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho, John Terry, Wayne Bridge; Mickael Essien, Claude Makelele, Michael Ballack, Frank Lampard; Andriy Shevchenko, Dider Drogba
Saltiga SG lame?? me?? why so? i was just talking about a possiblitily of mind games that top managers does before a big game which if you didn't quite get it, it simply means a compliment for Jose whom is clever in getting into a mind game with Barca before they meetup and you called me lame for that??? but are you able to confirm that neither of them will turn out for the game?
ghimpheng SG Messi: Barcelona will beat Chelsea 2-0 tribalfooball.com - October 30, 2006 Barcelona will beat Chelsea 2-0 tonight at the Nou Camp, says Leo Messi. The cocky Argie star, 19, reckons a 98,000-strong capacity crowd will roar Barcelona to a 2-0 dream win tonight. Messi said: "The Nou Camp is a theatre of dreams - Barcelona's dreams. And we'll beat Chelsea 2-0 this time." Boss Frank Rijkaard has ordered his stars to meet Chelsea's physical power head-on to secure a vital win and keep them on course to qualify from Group A. And Messi revealed he will seek divine inspiration to avenge the Blues' 1-0 win 13 days ago, courtesy of Didier Drogba's sizzler. Messi added: "I pray to be well and that the team wins. And I hope to God I score! "We're facing a great team with a great boss - but we're up for this." Barca will look to test Chelsea's third-choice keeper Henrique Hilario, who was in top form at home. Hilario's last game in the Nou Camp was for Porto in their 4-2 loss in 2000. But Messi added: "He made some great saves at Stamford Bridge." too arrogant
ghimpheng SG Henrique Hilario will keep his place in goal for Chelsea's Champions League match against Barcelona. Hilario has conceded only one goal in four games since replacing injured keeper Petr Cech and saved a penalty against Sheffield United on Saturday. Carlo Cudicini is fit after a spell out with concussion but boss Jose Mourinho has promised to keep faith in Hilario in the Nou Camp. Mourinho will make a late decision on strikers Didier Drogba and Andriy Shevchenko who both trained with the team on Monday. Drogba came off at Bramall Lane with a foot injury, and Shevchenko missed the game with a thigh strain. For Barcelona, Lionel Messi is hopeful of a return to the starting line-up. He missed the weekend victory against Recreativo with an ankle injury, but the Argentina forward is now back in training and could replace Ludovic Giuly. Gianluca Zambrotta and Lilian Thuram, Barca's high-profile summer signings, will also be hoping for recalls after being overlooked last weekend.
ghimpheng SG Barcelona coach Rijkaard full of praise for Mourinho Mon 30 Oct, 3:11 PM LONDON (Reuters) - Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has praised the ability of Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho for successfully changing the London side's style of play. "Mourinho has done great work to change tactics but stay successful," Rijkaard told the BBC on Monday. "Mourinho follows his personality, staying close to his own way. He chooses that and he has been very successful with it. I can only have respect for that." European champions Barcelona face Chelsea at the Nou Camp on Tuesday in a Champions League Group A match. Barca are in joint second spot in the group, level with Werder Bremen on four points, and five behind Chelsea after their 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago. "We have already played several times against Chelsea and we know how they play," Rijkaard said. "They are not as quick as they were in the counter-attack two years ago. "They have some players with a lot of talent. Chelsea are playing in a different way, with Michael Ballack closer to the opponent's goal. He has freedom and Michael Essien and Frank Lampard can overlap him. "The main thing is that when they don't have the ball they are very well-organised, they do not give away much space and it's difficult to do something against them." It is the third successive season that the two clubs have been drawn together in the competition. Chelsea knocked Barcelona out 5-4 on aggregate at the first knockout round stage in 2004-05 but the Spanish club won 3-2 on aggregate last season en route to winning the final against Arsenal in Paris in May.

anhydrouscoppersulphate SG Mourinho's dig at Barca divers From IAN McGARRY in Barcelona October 30, 2006 JOSE MOURINHO has warned his stars to beware of Barcelonas divers. The Chelsea chief saw tomorrow nights Champions League rivals beat Recreativo Huelva 3-0 on Saturday and noted their theatrics. Eidur Gudjohnsen won a disputed penalty and Recreativo coach Marcelino Garcia said: It was a disgraceful decision. Barca do not need to play like this to win. Its not fair that decision and that goal killed us. Chelsea were last night boosted by the presence of Didier Drogba and Andriy Shevchenko on their flight to Barcelona. Drogba injured his right foot in the 2-0 win against Sheffield United on Saturday. Shevchenko has missed the clubs last two games after picking up a leg muscle injury against Ports-mouth nine days ago. Mourinho will assess the pair in training today before finalising his line-up. Barcas Argentine star Lionel Messi is expected to play after being rested on Saturday night. WOW! as if his own team never dive

ghimpheng SG Chelsea boss Mourinho: Hilario has been amazing tribalfooball.com - October 30, 2006 Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on his stand-in No1 Henrique Hilario. Hilario is expected to keep his place in the side for Tuesday's trip to Barcelona in the Champions League. And Mourinho admits he has been impressed with the keeper, who saved a Danny Webber penalty in the weekend victory against Sheffield United. "Hilario is amazing," said the Chelsea manager, "He is cool and comfortable in goal and I think the penalty save was a three-point save. You never know if Sheffield United are 1-0 up."
