Digital Speedo Meter for your bike???

I recently seen a digital speedo one a PGM4.. you may think what's the big deal? but its another extra speedo on the bike.. the owner of the PGM4 , I think is using HRC card, that's why he needs a extra speedo.. a small speedo one the bike, about the size like a playstation memory card..

My fren was there too.. when I ask what is that?? He replied that the speedo meter suppose to be for bicycles one.. and it costs only about $90.. that's cheap right??? But can read speed up to 299kph..

I tot of installin it one my bike.. but couldn¡¦t find it.. the brand of the speedo one the PGM4 is "sigma sports"..dunno correct spelling or not.. the model of the speedo is the newest one..

The ones I found is CATEYE one.. but couldn't be install on bikes.. so I am askin whether any of you interested to install this speedo so we can get a discount.. and asking you all to keep a lookout in bicycle shops for the brand of speedo..

Advantages of installing digital speedo:

- test the real top speed of our bikes as analog speedo is not accurate..
- disputes on top speedo of stock bikes will be over..
- keep your bike within the speed limits of SGP roads..

disadvantages:
1. no light. at nite how to see
2. lagging. refreshes every 5s a lot leh.
u knoe bike pickup how fastlor.
3. some ppl might itchy hand go and steal also

my friend was using one by cateye, wireless one

simple mechanisms

sensor on fork,
magnet on rims, every revolution made is calculated via the circumference of wheel input, y cant it b installed on bikes

regarding doms query,

i know of one by specialized which feature lite, something like casio illuminator,blue color, but then the bad point is, the speed is updated every 2 second or slow, so abit laggy

Not saying impossible, but it is quite difficult to have digital speedo which is accurate (unless the speedo is come with the original motorcycle).

Let's said .. the speedo is came from bicycle which tyre has xx cm in diameters... now you put on motorcycle which may be larger or smaller than xx cm.. the digital speedo will read more wrongly than your bike original analog speedo... I am not sure .. unless there is a tool to set up the speedo to use the appropriate tyre.. then, it is possible. But how? The tuning must be done by test machine box perhaps.

Simple example is if I change my NSR front tyre to scooter tyre, my speedo probably will read 500km/h (smaller tyre, take much rotation per distance)...

Can the digital speedmeter for bicycle be used on motorbike?
Last time i used a CATEYE one on my mountain bike... it is useful and quite accurate...
with wire costs 30+
w/o wire costs 70+

I got a Cateye model modified to my bike and it's working fine but the maximum speed of this model is only 99km/h. Neutral It is accurate because you need to input your wheel circumference which I measured for my bike.

Speed reading is updated every second, there are other reading like timer, distance, odometer, average speed, maximum speed. All these looks more like a trip computer in a luxury car!!!

Yes, most of the standard analogue speedometer of your motorcycle are not accurate because they had some "mark up" to save you from the law. Mr. Green
