Have u noticed that little black shadow in ur rear view mirr

KneeSlider SG

GUys... something to share, have u guys noticed that most of the time our traffic police bikes never turn their head lights on? and or intentionally have them made really dimmed?

cool huh... talk about enforcing the law about head lights... and they ride around wif their head lights off.. so to sneak up on unsuspecting motorists who were going 95kmh in a 90kmh road?

anyway countless times i have came across tp bikes and cars wifout their headlights on... talk about dangerous riding and driving..

anyway i have a really bad experience wif the tp once... and wonder if anyone here had the same?

i was riding wif 2 other bikes from orchard meridien down to mr bean oppo paradiz ctr...
and everyone knows that on a sat nite the tp always patrol the old corners that started from plaza singapura to cathay.. so my frens and i took extra precaution and rode at a nice safe pace of 40kmh on the left most lane keeping dead ctr of the lane itself.
in the corners that followed we were about 2 cars length in front of each other going at about 35kmh? knowing that this is a TP hotspot so extra safe.. after which we turned towards mr bean all the time i was the third bike and i was watching the rear from my mirrors... no bikes behind us..

when we passed by mr bean we stopped at the following red traffic light. about a min passed and 3 task force tp riders rode up to that same traffic light, stopped about 2 lanes away and just looked at us. after about 5secs of looking they rode directly in front of us and shouted for us to get off. asked for the usual license and road tax etc.. and told us they were going to charge us wif DANGEROUS RIDING which warrents 24demerit pts... talk about being shocked...

the case dragged for a year.. and we got a lawyer to write letters here and there... and in the end each of us paid s$800 each for the lawyer fee, 4months suspension all classes, and s$2000 fine.

moral of the story.. the tp that day abused their authority and charged 3 innocent riders. it has been 3years now.. but the memory still lingers on..

anyone have something to share??

milkshake SG

what reasons they give for ur so call dangerous drving?

i dun see any dangerous riding out there?

what ur laywer argured with them?

did u sue back @ them?

gd rider means tomolo still alive n kickin

KneeSlider SG

I guess its a mistaken identity... they either saw another group of bikes after us and tot it was us.. yet again when they charged us with dangerous riding my frens and i were thinking we wouldnt get into any trouble coz CONSCIENCE is CLEAR... and didnt do anything... but they send us the NOTICE OF INTENDED PROSECUTION dangerous riding... wif a standard paragraph of things we did... cornering at low angle change lanes wifout signal causing other cars to brake to avoid blah blah blah... which later i found out to be used against many other innocent riders who got caught for dangerous riding...

whats going on? i think we were wrongly accused.. and got fined 2000 and suspended 4months for being in the wrong place at the wrong time... sucks...

paikuakia^^ SG

dangerous riding not 6 points meh now shoot up to 12 points liao meh wu ya bo

KneeSlider SG

Dangerous riding 24 points

i dunno what kinda charges u guys have seen.. but it is written clearly on my notice of intended prosecution 24points max...

reckless is the same for cars just another term

careless driving/riding is 6 or 9pts.. something like dat...

go trafficpolice webby to check it out...

anyway doesnt matter... innocent ppl at the wrong place at the wrong time will get charged. and the court doesnt care about proof... my lawyer studied the system and found out that it was just a "market rate" case.. where this week all offenders facing this particular charge will be summoned wif a certain RATE and everyone will get the same RATE whether u got a lawyer or not...
and the RAte changes from week to week... sometimes 12pts 200fine, sometimes nopoints 3000fine, sometimes suspend 1mth sometimes 4mths.. etc etc... get the point? the system sucks but what can we do about it?? just lament over an online forum...

hmmm, next time change lane signal liao, corning slow, hehe

so how in the end?
got any points duducted?
how long did that happen?
that time u probation plate?

Maxlean SG

well this is what usually happens......Imagine i am a TP on duty...esp TASK FORCE duty..........

"I am a task force! I am the elite of the TP! i can ride better than my peers do! So since I am on OPERATION tonite, i must have "good case" to prove myself! I am goin to target and summon riders/drivers doin funny thing on the roads!"

This is how they will think and go all out to get "cases".....

Too bad kneeslider, prob u happen to be at the wrong place, the wrong time! Since u just a small boy, u are easy meat!

But things will be different if u were an AMG MOH and on a DUC........i am pretty sure bout this hahahahaha.

Anyway those TP who are riders(whic means the ride whn off-duty) themselves arent that bad........cos they know how we will feel.

But those who dun ride or owns a bike, think they will want to put all bikers to sleep!

we are all victims of circumstances!

KneeSlider SG

i got fined 2000 and suspended 4months all classes.. no points deducted..
happened in june99 charged january00..
i had a red class2a then..when i got stopped by the tp...

anyway u guys should be aware of this.. the charge form they sent us was exactly the same as the ones they sent to others months later describing the incidents that took place... about cornering low angle, changing lane causing other vehicles to brake... itseems they do have a standard template... and they just change the num plates involved... sheeessshhh

I dunno about you guys, and maybe it’s easy for me to say …. but what I think is this … since already kena what could be worse off ? And plus you are the innocent party, travel only 40/35 kph, still kena such nonsensical charges …. it’s time to stir shit … pull a minister in and make whoever is responsible get it …. I mean it’s obvious you are not wrong … 35 kph (unless they say you are obstructing traffic) .... at most kantong my license lor … I will still stir … sometimes the pen is mightier than the sword.

eric_jugonz SG

thinking whether this kind of matters write to newspaper useful?? haiz.. anyway most non-riders condemn bikers liaoz..
