r we wasting good money in e above?
after 2 races, SG is prepping up the standings for the other
teams.
i raise this for a number of reasons:
1. there's hardly any big bang launch in SG on this other than an
ad on newspaper asking for `donation' from the sg public in plza
s'pura. i wonder if the A1 team has got the support of the
nation....
2. media coverage is also limited. `today' has a guy roaming in
europe to cover races and included the A1 races, but there's hardly
any interest created.
3. sg hasn't really got any racing pedigree in its fold. one cld
argue tt sg has a racing past, but that was then. some may also
argue that it's also too early to tell, but i think the interest
and motivation will wane veri fast once the mediocre results
continues....
it's not cheap moving from ctries to ctries and continent to
continent doing this? who are the A1 SG sponsors? i actually dun
know. if it's the STPB who funds it, then i think it is a waste of
pple's money.
SG needs to be selective and careful with its choice of sports
excellence programs. wanna be a sports hub and everything, there's
only so much sg can realistically achieve with the small population
and skillset. unfortunately, spreans r so deadpan with studies and
the `necessary evil' tt it's not likely that sg can excel in
motorsports. FT? tt's another story altogether....
