problem or not a problem?

hi guys, been facing this situation for a week or so...
at first, i tot aiya heck care everyone oso like dat..
but i jus bring it up here jus in case anythin serious crops up..
in the morning, damn diff to kick start.. aiya i know lar.. engine cold, blah blah blah,( jus changed spark plug recently) wats more, i using syn8000 when cold diff to start.. (i tried Vpower, easier to start) so i jus on choke lor, one kick start liao....
okok i wait for few sec then off choke back ... wait for 1 min for warmup... n then the problem cums...
b4 i engage gear, i rev the throttle, is normal operation la...
but when shift gear1, half clutch dat time, when try to rev it, it seems like get stuck like dat leh..wat i mean is cannot get a high rev... must slowly maintain at the stuck level for 1 second or 2 then can regain normal operation...
pls note, that is only in the morning or when parked for very very long hrs...
u guys here exp such a thingy?

To make it short. Did the engine knock when you tried to release the clutch? Perhaps you can pull and release your clutch(quick actions) abt 5-10 times b4 engaging 1st gear.

If it is wat I tink it is... it's just ur gear system, not yet lubricated unlike ur engine(coz engine warm up liaoz...)

I got the same prob... just got to blow it a little longer before moving off. Me riding TA150 also now... Very Happy

I think should be okay one lah. My bike also like that just warm up 1-2 minutes then blow a few times until u notice u can get smooth sound then u go liao…..

Blowing xtra hard when the engine is just warming up is not advisable when ur using 2 stroke bike.... can jam the piston.

wenever i start mine in the morn, i switch on choke, start then leave the choke on (let the engine run a little faster), after bout 15~20 seconds the engine will lower a little, then i switch off the choke to let engine run at usual.
next i will just play with the throttle. how i tell is (when still neutral of coz) i open throttle slightly and i see how it sounds. i always experience either one of two distinctively different sounds: one is the weak rev which i believe wat you are describing. if like dat i keep blowing throttle. after a while when i test again by opening the throttle slightly again, i should experience the second sound, which is stronger or like normal when the engine no longer cold. this has been my morning ritual ever since dat time just come out of my carpark at the junction, light turn green, i open throttle skali weak weak like you describe and it almost stalled. i quickly clutch in, blow harder and released clutch. of coz then the bike shot out like a rocket.
by the way i using v-power. i donno if 2T oso affect this problem. before, i used combination of Esso98 and Esso 2T Perfumed and this problem quite bad. now i use v-power and Esso 2T Pace not as bad. gonna change to Shell 2T vsx, donno will how.

yeah i tink the problem sumtimes gotta do with the petrol u use.
last time i used Vpower, more easy to start in the morning... syn8000 more diff to start..
i use Castrol TTS and Castrol RS for my 2T n 4T
now i jus heck care, jus warm up abit longer, n throttle more when moving off, to prevent engine stalling..

Last time when i was riding TA150, got this prob. This could be that your valve are clogged up. You should go clear your valves. This applies if you mileage is around 50000. If you were using lower grade 2T the valve will clog faster. Dun ever let Ah Bee (HOCK KIM LEONG) to touch your bike though they are cheap. Good things dun come cheap. Last time I let them do it, nabei...itchy hand go and change the timing of the valve. Then the whole bike become too responsive! Dun let them touch your bike!!!!

erhzz i tink its no good to blow your throttle during warmup....should juz let it at its idling speed.....coz if u keep blowing the throttle to make it warm faster...then u might as well move off early?

whitephantom i tink u warm up too fast lor....there is a certain point of ur temp guage will tell u when its juz nice lor...for me i riding nsr and i always wait till the stick of the temp guage point in between the red square and the beginning of the white line....hope u get wat i'm trying to say Smile

For warming up ... it is alway best to let it warm up by itself and not blowing the throttle ... if you like to blow the throttle when heating up the bike , u might as well engage gear 1 and move off at a RPM below 3k ... and choke is put in use when u have difficulties in starting the bike and not leaving it on to warm up the bike ... but i also on when heating up my bike last time hahahaha .... it is up to you Very Happy

as long as when heating up your bike , your RPM dont exceed 3k can liao ... if not very stress for your engine

dunno leh, If I dun blow the trottle in the morning, the engine will stall... dunno abt u guys. but after pumping v-power today, It seems that it doesn't need to blow and can leave to idle.

It is okay to blow throttle while warming up for 2strokers but not okay for 4strokers. Cause, 2T will go into the piston chamber when you start the bike running. So there is something for them to rub. But for 4strokers, gotta wait for the 4T to go into the piston chamber. So the waiting is necessary.
