Engine oil leak (Hand itch lah) for Virago 125

Today do some maintenance, then saw a 3 nut tighten cap (is it the oil filter?) at the engine, so open out to see what is it. Black oil starts leaking out, so immediately close back and tighten. In the end the oil leak about 1 plate diameter on the floor.

Question is: how to check the level of engine oil? My bike is Virago 125, got a gauge at the engine there, but inside is clear liquid leh, so dun is it use for engine oil or not. Also, got no max. or min mark. Inside the filler cap also not dipstick leh.

if u scared, then drain out all the oil n pour new one loh.

better than topping up.

Maybe you can look outside the bike's engine oil's tank. There should have a clear plastic panel which you can see the engine oil level. But if you wana hear what I advise, use the remaining amount of engine oil in your tank and go to a bike shop to change engine oil. You bike is very dependant on engine oil. Dun play with it in the future.

I got see a gauge with clear liquid inside at the engine there. Engine oil is black colour, but how come the quage is clear liquid inside? I was told the guage is to check for engine oil level.

engine oil will only turns black where u have not change for a very long time ... but b4 it turn black , it is clear so better hurry up to change your engine oil ... all the best

The gauge is still clear, so the engine oil is still clean. If the black oil that I see is not engine oil (the oil inside the cover at the engine there), then what is it (help!!!)?

I got see the part manual. The cover inside got a 'O' ring, a "round can-like" filter, and secured by 1 long allen screw with 2 short allen screws, so I believe that one to be the oil filler cover

Better change oil. It's not so expensive.... only $20 for good 4T oil.... cheaper if you change it urself....

From my experience, engine oil will get dirty even after 1 day of riding. It appears clean at the gauge as dirt particles will always tend to sink to the bottom.
