There is no way to prevent it. Even if you spray paint over it, after some time it will drop. And rust again. So maybe up to u whether you ready to respray it or not. Before you spray, use sand paper to remover the rust first. Or Mr brasso will be best

There are some anti-rust paints that can be bought at Sungei Road. I use such paint on any rust spots on my bike. Works like a charm to prevent the rust from spreading. Can even paint over these spots after application.

i thought of coating the pipe with a layer og grease. has anyone tried that before?

i got a fren that applies used engine oil on her exhaust pipe.
i dun see any rust yet.
