Everton boss Dave Moyes says he was happy to sit back and watch the
frenzied transfer business of deadline day from afar.
"We made two good signings and another good loan acquisition for
the senior squad," said Moyes. "Hopefully, I think they will prove
themselves to be key signings in the future.
"We knew Davie Weir and Alan Stubbs could not go on forever, so
that is why we have brought Joleon in and we have been pleased with
him. He made his debut against Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane
last weekend and did a good job.
"I think everyone knew that we needed a goalscorer after not
scoring anywhere near enough goals last season and again Andy has
come in and done really well. He's got pace, he can hold it up, he
works hard and he can score goals.
"We have also brought Tim Howard in, so I think we have made
signings in the right positions and they have been the right ones
for us. Hopefully they will prove to be key players in the coming
years for us."
