Honda Phantom 150 or 200? Singapore.

Dear all out there,
I am a new rider looking for a bike to last me 4-5 years with low maintenance. Am rather settled on HONDA Phantom 150 to 200 but which is better? And where are the reliable dealers? Sorry to be so chiong hay but what about Honda Shadow 125? Is it good? (It is my second option)

shadow 125? or do u mean Daystar? Well, i can say, the "shadow 125/phantom 200 are both 4 stroke bikes. They have lesser power than Phantom 150, coz phantom 150 is a 2 stroke bike. Phantom 150 has the same engine as SP, just that the chasis is abit heavier than SP. Performance and maintainence wise is same with SP.

So the end of the story is, u can consider Phantom 150.

Thanks, but I'd like to ask a few more questions. Does the fuel economy of the 150 rival the 200 as I heard a 4 stroke burns cleaner? Also is %5900 a good price for a six month old phantom 150? Who are the reliable dealers anyway? It's really difficult to enter the motor world on your own, the dealers I've tried keep trying to sell me the most expensive bike they have.

Nabei. Basket! I browse the column "girl want to ride bike" then bloody hell all the chee hong kia reply plenty plenty,then I got 1 reply. TZR, Wo Yong Yuan Zi Chi Ni! I also see one of the chee hong kia(sponsor boy) say he to buy full face $380 is the cheapest? Sure or not, although I never buy full face I plan to get one but doe wan to spend so much cash. Actually 3 reasons for full face, I think it's cool, I think it's safe and my mother dun know I ride bike so drive in that time cannot see face better.

parents object to us ride bike is 110% natural one. if they dun object then really got problem liao.

ok lah civics n moral lesson over liao. full face ah, the GOOD QUALITY ones i dunno price lah, maybe really $380.
but if u just want a full face, heck care the quality, can get for $100+.

actually both not really much difference loh, 150 pick up stronger but eat more petrol. 200 very weak pickup (compare to 150) and top end, this i dunno coz only got chance try pickup. but can tell u it damn save petrol.

so if u not really very picky about speed, get the 200 loh, coz they both look the same. some more it's a 4 stroke bike, needs less attention then 2 strokers as well as less petrol.

but really, i will recommend a sports bike Smile

got leh... shadow got 125cc, 400cc and 750cc versions...

anyway the 125cc and 400cc sux lah, coz they are using the same frame as the 750cc, only diff is a smaller engine = the sUxx0r.

Hey, I beg to differ. Coz i seen and tested the 125cc one. It is not the same frame as the 400cc of 750. It is alot more lighter. But then again. It is still considered underpower coz the bike has got too many gadgets like the Daystar. So if i not wrong, the Top Speed can only be around 110-120. Wrong choice if you need speed. For performance and comfort, settle for phantom 150 also known as "TA150". For comfort, low maintenace and save $$ on petrol. Go for "Honda Phantom Deluxe" aka "TA200". But speed wise, got for TZM, SP or KRR. TZM is a better among the three coz the parts can be purchase from Malaysia. And the value foe TZM will not drop that fast. Presently in the market there isn't any second hand KRR on sale so i dunnoe the resale value for it. But it will go low like SP if resale. Whatever it is, dun go for MITO coz MITO can be trashed easily. Even a TA150 can trash it. Provided the MITO is in stock condition. Very Happy

the newer mitos got powercut, restricted to 120kmh. but take out liao can 190 liao. the older ones dun even need, jit tao 190kmh. phantom pi yan nia.

Dear Guys,
So if I want a Phantom 200 for 5 years how much cash should I fork out? And which is better brand new or second hand? I also have a lot of barang barang so I need the boxes (3 total) which brand is best? And a starter helmet from $50 odd which is a good brand? And Lastly I CAN'T FIND A RELIABLE DEALER!!!

there's no such thing as reliable dealer one lah...
u just go to as many shops as you can and find out the price. collect their name card and write down the price on the back.

then u just see which price fits u then go loh.
there is no cheapest, 1st hand all sell roughly the same.

I am also trying to decide which bike would be better, the Phantom 150 or 200. My knowledge of motorbikes is limited. I would be grateful for any information you find out. I have only been advised that a four stroke is better and lnger lasting. The 150 is probably faster (pick up). I don't like the sound of the 150 - it sounds like an electric lawn mower. But, as you can see from my recent posted message, I feel the 200 is loud and hacking. Please advise. Cheers. Bingo.
