Terry Dived for the Penalty

zocoss SG

MARK HUGHES has accused John Terry of diving to earn the penalty that set up Chelseas win.

Blackburn manager Sparky said: Theres a real sense in our dressing room that we were mugged.

Terry allowed his legs to collapse from under him to get the penalty.

He knew the ref was watching the marking because of the FIFA directive about pulling players back and he used that to his advantage.

He went down under a fair challenge from Andre Ooijer and the referee gave the penalty. Its something thats creeping into the English game and you will see more of it if players know they can use it to gain an advantage.

The penalty changed the game. Referees need to get the big decisions right and today he got them wrong.

Blues skipper Terry denied he had taken a dive, saying: It was definitely a penalty. He held me back.

Oh no....this isn't gonna turn into another one of those "cry foul" threads issit? Mr. Green

zocoss SG

No, its just to highlight that new England captain dived to get the all important penalty for his team... So who says diving is out? Even the captain is at it, so why can't the rest... After all, Mc Claren wants players to follow Terry as an example. Laughing

i find that there was enough contact leh..

the Bear SG

any closer and the dude would be guilty of sodomy on Terry...

that was a clear foul.. and i have to say a very VERY stupid one..

zocoss SG

Nah... Terry when down too easy. A tough guy like him shouldn't have fall with such a slight touch. Even the commentator was asking...

The match seens like heading for a draw and needed a desperate act... and up step...

Captain Diver to the rescue

the Bear SG

tough cannot fall.. Laughing

i guess he can only be fouled by Ben Thatcher

stellazio SG

Andre Ooijer was stupid to get so close to terry, and to tug at his shirt.

Terry would have been even stupider not to fall, when the contact is enough to warrant the penalty.. Laughing

zocoss SG

If touch can fall then the whole league will be falling players liao... Like i said, he desperate liao so must think of ways to con referee otherwise Blackburn bo water bottle for him to throw...

Anyway if Captain Diver can go to ground so easily for the whole world to see then all the other young players also can follow his example. Laughing

as much as i despise chelsea, i think it was a fair penalty. terry, like rooney, dosent go down easily and the hugging was too obvious.

zocoss SG

Yeah, true. Thats why i wonder why he went down so easily...nothing to despise chelsea about its Terry's own acted.

Captain Diver went for it even when the ball was not near or coming towards him... I guess is probably he felt they couldn't break the deadlock and time was running out fast and he didn't want another Middlesbrough. That's why he took the easy way out...

zocoss SG

He even made it to the front page of Mirror Newspaper... The general view of the people in UK also thinks he went down too easily.

England captain dived, what a shame... Don't recall Beck dive... even before or after he became England captain...

Now they have a Captain Diver... Mad

terry’s performance is not up to standard in recent games especially in the liverpool and boro games. mcclaren should appoint gerrard as captain

zocoss SG

Yeah... Maybe he is feeling the pressure of being captain liao. He seems to have lost his way in taking up good defensive positions from the matches with Liverpool & Middlesbrough.

ghimpheng SG

I don't really think he dived..........stop being bias to chelsea players...............

dragg SG

no wonder terry appeared to be grimacing.

Mr. Green

used SG

but he will always be in the first 11 for both club and country.

zocoss SG

Well true but if he continue to make mistake and if in the England shirt... very soon he won't have friends in the press... and McClaren can alway drop him if he is having a bad run...

finoq SG

very right, I don’t think he dived.
