Congrats to Italy! They have scored in every game and certainly
deserve to be the world champions! Be it the controversial matches
against USA and Australia, a true champion will know how to grind
out results even when things are not on their side.
On the sidenote, I feel really very very very sad for Zidane. How
could such a model professional... the greatest player of his
generation, a proven winner, headbutted an opponent? Materazzi must
have said something so insulting that Zidane retaliated back in
fury.
I hope all footballing fans will remember him for his skills,
passion and his ability to motivate his team-mates. Not many
footballers in this world have lifted the World Cup, European Cup,
Champions League Cup and other domestic League medals and cups, and
also awarded FIFA player of the year award for 3 times as well as
European Footballer of the Year. Who can ever forget Zidane's 2
goals against Brazil in the World cup final 1998? Or his rocket
volley against Leverkusen in the champions league final?
Thanks Zizou for the memories.
