This article about Raymond Domenech's superstitions(with regards
to astrology, among a host of other things) is mind-boggling and
refreshing

.
Maybe, his tarot cards have been telling him something invisible to
us - either way, it'd take a brave man or a foolish soul to have
the audacity to repeat the same seemingly impossible mantra(yeah,
the thing about his reign being a failure unless the French
triumph in Berlin on 9th July) in every post-match
conference from the South Korea draw onwards.
That said, I feel much credit needs to be given to the French -
they have been absolutely magnificent in the knockout stages even
if they'd been abysmal in the qualifiers and the group
stages.
On the back of their performances against Spain, Brazil and
Portugal, I must admit I really fancy France to win the World Cup.
Perhaps, just perhaps, it is written in the stars afterall :
Zinedine Zidane to leave his final, indelible imprint on football
as a world champion...and Raymond Domenech to have the last laugh
at the millions who had derided him as an incapable eccentric.
