Afternoon news. A former leader of the now disbanded Communist
Party of Malaya died in Thailand on Friday.
Fang Chuang Pi, better known as the Plen, died of cancer.
He was the contact person between Mr Lee Kuan Yew, then Singapore's
Prime Minister, and the communists in the 1950s.
