Maurince SG yups.. counldn't agree more.. tink he shld leave at '99 lor.. at least he still kan leave at a high.. now semi 1/2 *fuck.. haiz..
walesa SG I haven't seen a decent United shirt since the 'special' Champions League shirt which they won the Champions League in... Funny how life has come a full circle talking about sponsors - United ditched Sharp(who had been absolutely loyal to United even through the dark days in the 80's) for the more lucrative deal with Vodafone when they looked set to conquer the world; now, with their demise, Vodafone has pulled out of their deal...
verydisappointed SG van nistelrooy will win more at Real Madrid. he has been a terrific player for manu, it's a good thing to move on at the age of 30. with Capello as manager of madrid, van nistelrooy will have higher chance to win the champions league with Madrid.
zocoss SG No cos they could only afford to sponsor 9M a year. AIG is willing to give almost 15M a year to have their logo on their shirt. Its the highest shirt sponsor deal in England and only lesser to 1 or 2 clubs, Juventus's is one of them... Their shirt sponsor, a oil company from Libya but that one is now over too now that Juventus has been relegated to second division football. It make more sense to go with AIG since they are willing to pay so much. Their old sponsor "Sharp" could not even offer them 3M a year. Times have change, You go with the person that can pay you the most for your shirt deal... And AIG is the biggest insurance company in the world. This way, you won't need to sell your stadium name and history away like some other club.
ben1406 SG American International Group.. They are the parent comapny of AIA as we all know in Singapore.
zocoss SG Lolz... players wants to leave? who... Ronaldo? even he says he can stay already but even if he leave... who else? RVN... lolz... Man U has been trying to get rid of this lazy bum even before the WC started... now that he knows he has no future at the club, he say he want to leave. Actually, even better, this way man u will save about 3 to 4 million if they were to sell him if he didn't ask. More players are leaving at other clubs... Gallas & Drogba asked to leave but not allowed Del Horno also want to go... Carlton Cole has left.. At Arsenal, Pires didn't want a one yr contract he wanted 2, Arsenal only offer 1 yr, so he left. A Cole can't stand the chairman and the manager... he criticised the club while promoting his new book so he is leaving too. Cambell has left too At Liverpool, Cisse wants to go back to France. Morientes wants to go back to Spain. Hamann & Cheyrou have all left already. So, which club got more player leaving?
Poolman SG Simple is the word to sum up Mu's jersey . AIG wording also simple , but $$$ wise , not simple . Hope they play simple football , score simple goals and concede simple goals also . And sign some simple players and so on .
weiqimun SG AIG wasn't even on the fray when man u is forced to seek for new sponsors. it was the indo tycoon internet gambling firm that was negotiating with man u. of cos, tt eventually did not happened. the deal was messy and fingers were pointed allover. man u had to scurry to find aig. vodafone did make an announcement tt they are ending their association early with man u (1 year b4 their contract is up) becos they want to focus their sports mkting fund elsewhere. if vodafone wants to pay, they jolly well can. they make obscene profits in their europe telco operations. after all, they dislodge tobacco giant malboro as ferarri's f1 main sponsor. i think they know they can find value elsewhere rather than pay so much for a team tt's clearly passed their sell-by date.
zocoss SG Ahh... i think you are mistaken. A contract will remain unless both parties are willing to end it. One party alone cannot withdraw unless the other party compromise it and In this case, it wasn't... Vodafone may be a big company but it is a known fact that they are losing lots of money in recent years now that the handphones industry in Europe is more or less saturated. They even made a record lost last year in their business report. They may have consulted with man u and gave them the permittion to seek a new sponsor if they can get a better offer than theirs. That is the reason why AIG came in. If Man utd couldn't get a sponsor better than Vodafone's $9m a year, Vodafone would still have to remain as sponsor until their contract ends. But if man utd had a even bigger offer and Vodafone is not willing, man u will still have to stick with Vodafone for the next 2 years. So in a way man u got lucky and had an early release from their contract. Vodafone is a public listed company and they had to make such announcement so that it gives the Man u board a legal right to look for a new sponsor or otherwise if they changed their minds after a new sponsor is found a lawsuit could be brought against the Man u club. Anyway, this issue turned out very well for man utd. The moment they started looking, companies were queuing to sponsor them... the indo tycoon internet gambling/tobacco firm wanted to sponsor much more than AIG's but Man utd didn't want to be associated with a gambling/tobacco firm as their sponsor that is why they when with AIG. Anyway, AIG is a even bigger company than Vodafone and they are sponsoring more than any other clubs in England is getting.
chillz88 SG Must be you all never read the website. Just anyhow make comment about the jersey. Go read manutd.com to find out more about the new jersey and why it look so classic.
CoolMyth SG Read a comment, looked like Championship League jersey. Quite true. They have a premonition?
