Hi, anyone know the different between the sg ps2 and the us or the japan version?

Sg version = Asian PAL PS2 set. Can play Original Japanese PS2 games ONLY!

Japan version = Japan PAL PS2 set. Can play Original Japanese PS2 games ONLY! need a step down transformer.

US version = NTUC/ UC PS2 set. Can play Original US PS2 games ONLY! need a step down transformer.

There simple and clear(I hope Smile )

Oh and remem anyone if want to buy dun buy at the place that is famous for selling PC one ah! Smile

my friends is offering a PS2 frm australia (PAL system). do you guys think i can play all the games, the backups and ntsc original?
will AR2 help to solve the problems?
and another thing, will i have a problem for having this set in singapore..

There’s a mod out for the sg ps2 that allows you to play all region games. It’s called the Blue Messiah. Most shops should be selling the messiah modded ones if you ask for them now.

Just for the records, there is no such thing as Singapore version of PS2. There are only 3 versions of PS2 in the market:
1) NTSC - J (JAP)
2) NTSC - U/C (US)
3) PAL (UK)

Those you see in SONY shops in Singapore are the JAP versions ($399).

The US ones are above $400.

PAL versions are seldom seen here and the cost is between JAP and US.
