Juventus to be relegated. Also AC Milan, Lazio, Fiorentina

By Myles Palmer

THE CHIEF PROSECUTOR, Stefano Palazzi, has just said that Juventus should be relegated to Serie C for match-fixing.

AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina should be relegated to Serie B.

Juventus's shares have been suspended on the stock exchange.

THIS IS AN ATOMIC BOMB in European football.

If you've backed Italy to beat Germany tonight, lay off that bet NOW !

Torino were promoted in a play-off, so they will be Turin's club in Serie A.

Last season Genoa were promoted but bought two matches, so they went down again.

What a culture ! What a country ! What a shambles !

Uefa need to know today which clubs will play in the Champions League and the Uefa Cup.

But Uefa have given the Italian FA another 20 days to supply the names of the clubs who will participate.

THIS COULD FREEZE all big transfer deals till managers see who will be sold by those corrupt clubs.

Kaka, anybody?

Zambrotta going cheap?

Buffon brings his gloves to London?

The entire Juventus squad should sue fixer-in-chief Luciano Moggi.

My favourite Fiorentina is involved , so sad . This is very sad for football and a big disgrace to Italy . I really feel for those club supporters . Fiorentina already been expelled from Serie A before and now history repeat itself for them . Gosh , really , is money really more important to them then football ?

LazerLordz SG

Let's see..

I want Buffon and Trezeguet for Arsenal.

suckthumb.com SG

Italian clubs all blind?

stellazio SG

besides inter, not many of them are rich..and besides if you're talking about the big names of the clubs, how many of them will wana go to a "smaller" club?

fudgester SG

Ouch.

The Italian FA was in a catch-22 situation here: if they relegate those teams, they will lose millions of euros worth of sponsorship and telecast deals.

But if they don't, they would lose all shred of respect knowing that they have destroyed the Beautiful Game in the name of $$$$. Besides, it would send the wrong message to the other clubs that high-level corruption would be tolerated.

I'm glad the Italian FA did the right thing and demoted them. Those clubs slapped the face of football for money.

Anyway, I expect to see a massive exodus of quality players in the weeks to come. That can only be good for the other leagues. Very Happy

used SG

yeah. all this is done for the good of football

stellazio SG

i really wonder why they took so long to discover it.. Laughing

LazerLordz SG

Add Camoranesi to Buffon and Trezeguet in Arsenal colours. Laughing

BillyBong SG

What's wrong with Lehmann and Henry that you want buffon and trezeguet? Mr. Green

Camoranesi would be a good buy, provided he hits form in England....so many Italians failed to shine in England: Massimo Maccarone, Marco Materrezzi etc

Raiding the top clubs of Italy might be an inviting prospect for some, but i expect all the clubs to be hit by major fines only; none will be relegated.

Imagine Juventus in SERIE C. Mr. Green
