How to mark someone 30 meters out with 3 players? Rooney has to be in not to score but to draw the defenders away from Gerrard. Gerrard scored so many winni...

Poolman SG

Not by scoring .... Mr. Green

By defending , and then win by penalty-kicks after extra time .

No doubt , John Terry and maybe Ferdinand has been doing quite a good job , especially Terry , a role model of a very good centre-back .

If England are to win , it will be the defense that win them the Cup .

Agree ?

The man who was death SG

dream on

ecuador will be enough to crush them.

LinYu SG

JLennon SG

They may meet Germany instead and England will know their game well.

Poolman, England's record in penalty taking is not something that one can find any assurance. In fact, I dread it if ever goes down to that...

used SG

the chances of england winning the WC is as good as me playing in the epl next season. Very Happy

wadsad SG

u dreamin ah…

JusStatic SG

England have an ambysmal record when it comes to penalties.

Recent penalty defeats:

- Euro 96 lost to Germany
- Euro 2004 to Portugal
- World Cup 90 lost to Germany

JusStatic SG

Oh and talking about trying to use defensive mindset to win games, I remember how some England fans used to laugh, loathe and stereotype at how Italy was too defensive and negative. What goes around comes around. Neutral

Poolman SG

If you can win them , hold them ! Laughing

Poolman SG

Wow , 99% see England no up .

Twisted Evil England will prove you guys very wrong .

England will win if Crouch kept playing , and Owen dropped , Rooney must play .

Poolman SG

Crouch and Rooney defend better . Mr. Green

Poolman SG

I still felt England still possess a secret weapon we will not see until the QF .

mystiv SG

last 16? of course
last 8? probably
last 4? *cough cough*
win? forget it Laughing

all that said, im still hoping that they'll win

JLennon SG

As much an England supporter I am as you are, its hard for me to fathom how they can cruise through the finals with the insipid performances they have put so far. I have not taken into account the strength of the oppostion yet.

Cannot possible rely on Crouch and Rooney all the time. Need to have depth in the squad in case of loss of form or injuries. Hopefully they may just emulate Italy in 1982 coming good at the later stages.

dinky1409 SG

Actually, yeah England have a slim chance of winning the World Cup after seeing the other participating teams in action especially red hot Argentina! But there is a possibility of them winning and like the threadstarter say, its by their defensive play. Winning by penalty kicks? Not too sure about that.. Hehe.. Mr. Green

CoolMyth SG

If England win the WC, whenever I need a taxi, I'll book yours. Laughing

stellazio SG

i also wish, but unlikely la..england need more time to peak, they better pray they dun tio top teams so early..

Agenda SG

No credit given to england here, most people here are probably sick
