i know what you mean. But when it comes to soccer idol, they need someone not only with skills. They need to make him a soccer celeb, who play with good skil...

Agenda SG

Yes/No?

If asked to name the national squad, Can you name all 25? For me, No..

The only people I can name are probably Lionel Lewis, Noh Alam Shah and Tan Kim Leng Laughing

monoslayer SG

some n'tional team players.

Dead_Man_Inc SG

yeah.

where had the Goal 2010 gone to? if they are really serious in promoting football here, they would have shown every match Singapore play, and not only 1 match per week of S.league..

Oh i get it i get it, once S.league gets popular, then Starhub will use the chance to charge us again! but it will be so long till S.league get famous........

dragg SG

i have no interest at all.

latterrain SG

Football is not a sport in singapore, it is a pastime

weiqimun SG

uncle goh no more pm, no need 2010 alredi.

the `in' word in Sg sports now is SG idol...i mean icon... like syamsul, as according to a dr viva muthu. that is the biggest joke i read on the papers yesterday. ref also can be an icon. (i know some of u will say collina also icon mah. wrong, he's a celeb ref tt's all, not icon in EU eyes)

i think sg got a real problem. administratively, the sports is run by ppl who dun know much abt sports very much, and we dun hv the talents. they shld just frigging buy off someone/ some team w big $ and solve the dilemma once & for all.

Ito_^ SG

kewl.

but sg won maybe due to match fixing... n michael vana ran scot-free! Laughing

weiqimun SG

dun forget abbas too!

dinky1409 SG

Abbas was banned and from what I heard, don't know the exact charges, that it was almost weird that he was charged for being paid to win matches. Not to lose but to win but still considered match fixing..
Goal 2010 was weird but lets not kill the hope.. But if really want to make serious challenge, send players overseas and not just across the causeway like Ahmad Latiff Kamaruddin, a very very wasted talent.. Like Daniel Bennet play the English club ok what and the short stint Indra Shahdan had but the manager of the English club(can't remember which club) don't know why don't want to pursue Indra despite him fast becoming the fan's favourite there..

Patrik SG

Got got got.
I got mention him.
Laughing

R3SsH|n SG

got MCQ choices?

BrUtUs SG

sg sucks cos dun hv the player with right mentality, the coaches suck cos cannot bring up better players… the fas too reliant on foreigners… Sleague become rojak league with F grade players n teams from everywhere… they reali should learn from danish…

LazerLordz SG

Khairul Amri.

This lad's got promise.

RaaRaa SG

But how many times to do u see our neighbourhood stadium less than half filled with spectators during a local mach ? Confused

RaTtY8l SG

i only rmbr david lee, fandi, abbas, malek awab, nasir, jiang jung, borhan, tong hai…. those were the best team for me.

monoslayer SG

yup! i remember going to the national stadium to watch them play against the malaysian teams.. those were the days man.. everyone was wearing a "die hard fan" red shirt..
