It is said blood runs thicker than water. And nowhere else is
this true that the blood ties between Japan and China.
For the next 100 years, there will be no love lost between these
two giants, stemming from the atrocities of the past committed
against the Chinese people.
The fact that the Japanese continue to gloss over their war crimes
by revising their history texts, indicates contempt and a blatant
disrepect for their insidious atrocities, and a cowardice by
refusing to acknowledge their shady past in the way the Germans
have.
The Chinese, in their own vindictive ways, will never rest till
they see justice done; every little opportunity to pour salt into
the wounds of their most hated enemy must be music to their
ears.
The WC 2006 is no exception.
Until the Japanese can come to terms with their past and see beyond
their wounded pride, this tick-for-tat dance will continue.
