The thing is majority of people wants to read about them. We are
in an english speaking country like sg and we follow the premier
league at least most of us... Their newspapers & web pages
carry news about their national team which is normal, it is us who
go and read them, our own ST reprint these news cos they know it
has interest locally and it helps to sell newspapers (at least the
afternoon newpaper)
Fifa didn't give just england time to replace a player, it has
nothing to do with rooney, It gave every team till the last day to
replace an injure player due to training or otherwise... Spain
replace Asier Del Horno 2 days before the games started.
Like i said, If you were a spainish reader, you would be reading,
hearing & seeing the spainish team much more its just that we
don't read spainish so the interest there is handicap where
language is concern.
Lastly, i don't quite understand when you said "spanish team has
been disappointing over the years but their situation is almost
like any other big teams, france, italy, germany,
holland"....
Apart from holland who never won the world cup but have won the
European Cup, france, italy, germany and england have done so. So
how is their situation almost like? Spain has never won anything
yet till now, maybe it might change this time.
