Always look far ahead.
For driving, look far ahead. Bus drivers are taught the 12
vehicle rule. Look ahead 12 vehicles so that they can
anticipate the traffic, and change lane in time. Always looking at
the immediate vicinity in front, will cause you to get
caught behind a stalled bus or lorry. And also not see branches on
the road ahead.
No need to stare far ahead, just dart a quick look as far as you
can see is enough and then repeat as you go along. This way you
will see debris and obstacles before coming upon them.
Singaporeans tend to look just infront (developed from looking
at the trunk of the car infront), and thinking of all their
problems while driving.
