yawn.. unfair competition in EPL. chelsea ruins the EPL

JusStatic SG

For once I thought only some section of the Man Utd fans are ignorant...

Time to buy the European Cup? You mean the cup is up for sale at a local store? No games need to be played at all? All the Chelsea players and Abramovic have to do is to walk on the pitch against mighty teams like Bracelona, Milan, Liverpool, Real Madrid and won all the games without a single tactic being employed or a single kick of a ball?

Naive to say the least. Chelsea's embarrasment of riches does indeed made them to have more chances of winning the CL or any other trophies, but to say that they can win the CL for SURE is naive to say the least. This goes to show there is not a deep understanding of the game of football at all.

Dont try to brag about football or start a verbal war with me. I am not interested Neutral

AC Milan players "saddened" by Shevchenko decision
tribalfootball.com - May 28, 2006

AC Milan players are disappointed Andriy Shevchenko has decided to leave the club.
Fellow striker Filippo Inzaghi, who joined the club two years after Shevchenko, said: "I am saddened but if this is his wish we have to respect it.

"Chelsea are reinforcing themselves but Milan will remain a great club and are still not inferior to anyone in Europe."

The youngsters at the San Siro have also voiced their regret at the 29-year-old's impending departure, revealing that he has been an inspiration to their progress as footballers.

Alberto Gilardino, 23, said: "Sheva helped me a lot to adapt to life at AC Milan.

"I remember he spoke to me before training once and told me to play comfortably and not too worry too much about scoring goals because sooner or later they would come."

Brazil international Kaka, 24, added: "I am saddened that Shevchenko is leaving because I am losing a great friend.

"I called him on Thursday to see what the situation was and I hoped that he would have decided to stay but instead he has left.

"It's clear that in this story we are all losers, me, the fans and Milan because they will never have a greater player than him."

Ppl here still say gd things abt chelsea la, it is just all the chelsea fans overlook it. Chelsea fans always say that non-chelsea fans keep saying $$ brought sucess and tellin us not to it, but how many chelsea fans did admit that the 1st thing to admit them sucess is $$?? u cun really buy players like makalele and co. if not for the $$..
I still see ppl here congrats chelsea when that won the league. Only chelsea fans seems to overlook it.

if money against result bolton is the best all time performing team in the premiership.

they are consistently in the top 10 with hardly any money to spend. most of the players they signed are either old or discarded by bigger clubs.

tarcki SG

Look at the numbers of players Redknapp brought to avoid relegation... so $$ still plays a part. Very Happy

Let them buy Shevchenko while at it they might as well get Carlos from RM too... cos i suspect it will be a bad move by chelsea. Imagine paying 35 million pounds for a almost 30 yrs old striker... Strikers normally start to go downhill when they reach 30. Remember cantona, shearea, flower, keegan even rvn is loosing it now that he has reach 30. I suspect Milan knows it and wish to cash in on shev before getting nothing in a year or 2 time.

My guess is RA like shev (since fellow countrymen) for a very long time alrdy and wanted to get him when he first came to chelsea bcos he was a top player and also for their country but the thing is time have passed. 3yrs, maybe even 6,7 yrs since RA started to like shev. Shevchenko is not the same player anymore, maybe he can still do it but it won't be consistent especially in the EPL where it is much more faster than Serie A. He will probably get chop by defenders & midfielders much more than in Italy, so good luck to him. Who knows, they may even gift Dragba & Gallas to Milan for him. That would be an even bigger mistake to do. Losing Dragba & Gallas for Shev...

Lastly, i hope they get carlos too... lolz

Shevchenko completes move to Chelsea

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko from AC Milan for a fee of around £30million.

The 29-year-old flew into London today to conclude negotiations with the Stamford Bridge club after announcing last week his intention to leave.

A statement posted on the AC Milan website said: 'AC Milan communicates it has ceded definitely the sporting rights of footballer Andriy Shevchenko to Chelsea Football Club.'

Chelsea confirmed the fee is a club record and that the Ukraine captain has signed a four-year contract.

The former European Footballer of the Year said on the club's official website: 'I am here for the challenge and the excitement of playing in the Premier League. I am going from one big club to another and joining a team of champions.

'There is a right moment to join a football club and I think I have arrived here at the perfect time.

'The Champions League has to be a realistic target for next season but it is not just about the Champions League. Chelsea is going for their third Premiership as well and I like the club's mentality of wanting to win every game they play.

'I have followed Mr (Jose) Mourinho's career carefully for the last few years and have been hugely impressed with the way he manages.

'He puts team ethic before individual expression which is the way I believe great teams are created. Had money been my motivation for coming, I would probably have stayed in Milan.

'I am pleased that Chelsea managed to conclude everything before the World Cup - I can go to Germany with a clear mind and proud to be a Chelsea player.'

are they trying to build a old mans' team?

Mr. Green

Poolman SG

RA paid 30 millions pounds " straight cash " deal to AC Milan .

That's the diifference between clubs , most clubs would settle instalments base on the length of the players contract .

If I'm AC Milan , i really don't want to say NO to a straight cash deal ..... of 30 million pounds , converted to Euros ....... it's alot to AC Milan or other clubs .

Especially if that player is 29 and can only contribute 2-3 years of high level football .

Now AC Milan can built a new team , to replace the oldies , with their own resources and that new 30 million pounds .

Chelsea had just made AC Milan stronger for the UCL .

stellazio SG

i still have a feeling that its what RA wants..not really what mourinho wants..

RSP SG

That makes it 300 million pounds spent on players in 3 years for Chelsea...thats like 1 BILLION SGD.... Laughing

as much as it would liven up the league....it's simply a pure waste of money....

microsoft may not be well loved by many but few can't fault the gates...possibly the largest contributor to charities....folks with money should learn to spread it around to help the poor....

and footballers too. it's ridiculous when you have third rate players in the lower divisions able to afford expensive cars, goes to show how skewed globalisation has become....

Poolman SG

RA got money what ? What can u do ? Kill him ?

Poolman SG

Think after the first UCL failure , RA already rumour to be interested in bringing Shev for Mourinho , Mourinho say no need , he has confidence , but once again , he flopped , so RA decide for him this time .
