TaShA & nAt SG Oei…... wat so bad abt uefa cup… spurs so long nv qualify for euro then now in uefa cup ok mah….. must take 1 step at a time… no need to rush since most of spurs players r young fellows… this yr cannot then next yr lor… come join our blackburn and fight together for domination of the UEFA CUP… and do england proud just like boro tonite…...........
dragg SG actually spurs deserves the champion league spot. overall they have been more consistent. if not for the food poisoning i believe they have a very good chance of beating west ham for the 4th spot.
BrUtUs SG but they lack sportmanship.... so they could've lost to gunners therefore if wan to use the 'IF' theory gunners or even blackburn oso shouldve the spot... they dun deserve it...
BillyBong SG Why issit the deed always get done first, then they complain? If they disagreed with match officials, they should have put up a formal written protest BEFORE playing the match; saying it wasn't foul play and then after that pursuing a re-match AFTER the match was played is ridiculous and totally unfair towards West Ham.
JusStatic SG Agreed. They lack the depth in squad to compete on all fronts, and if either one of their key players gets injured, it all might go wrong for them next season.
Dead_Man_Inc SG Premier League turn down Spurs replay request The Premier League say they have found 'no grounds' to replay Tottenham's match against West Ham after a number of Spurs players were struck down by food poisoning. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy sent an open letter to League chairman Dave Richards asking for the game to be replayed after defeat at Upton Park cost Spurs fourth place in the table and qualification for the Champions League. But in a written response to the north London club, the Premier League said they 'find no grounds for acceding to your request for a replay'. The League accepted the sickness and diarrhoea which affected a number of players meant it was an 'unsatisfying' way for the season to end, but said the board had to take a 'dispassionate view' of the matter. The statement continued: 'THFC did have the option of not fulfilling the fixture and will have made its own assessment of the risks associated with that decision. 'It would have been for an independent commission to have decided the merits of your case; rule on any sanction and/or the appropriateness of a replay. 'The board does not wish to jeopardise the respect and excellent relationship that exists between us and THFC. 'We remain very sympathetic to the unenviable position you found yourselves in and hope that neither THFC or any other club will suffer the same fate again. 'However, we believe we expedited our responsibilities effectively and with due care and consideration based on the facts available to us. 'We of course realise that for THFC a feeling of unfairness at the ill-fated events of last Sunday will linger, but trust that you will put this behind you and concentrate on domestic and UEFA Cup success next season.'

[/quote As a balckburn fan i had realise this too.... thats why Mark Hughes trained or buy players that can covered almost all the areas like steven reid who used to only played right midfield but now central and even right back. And i never see Lucas Neill played as a centre def during souness days but recently covering for nelsen he did so well in tat position. and also bentley till now i also don noe where he play... every week diff position.... Nelstar SG When Liverpool won CL last season but was fifth in position, the general consensus of the scousers (mostly who cried foul) were that they deserved to defend their title. When Spurs pressed the issue that they had ten players in the first team suffering food poisoning, the FA should have given a strict 'yes' or 'no' instead of a 'maybe yes' or 'maybe no' answer before the match. The poor response from the FA showed that the board did show favoritism over certain clubs and lacked the decisiveness. When Spurs pressed for a rematch, they had done so for the players, the fans, and the club itself to right themselves. FA could have set that rematch was possible but would not affect current league standings. Sore losers? Put yourselves in the shoes of the players, and the fans if you were to understand that you lost due to food poisoning. Have you never felt heartbroken when Thierry Henry was stretched out of an important match and lost? What do you think the average Spurs fan would feel to see their players playing after food poisoning? Match injuries are part of the game, but I do not believe food poisoning is controllable especially when you dine at a reputable restaurant. Are Arsenal fans afraid of Barcelona, so much so that they believed spurs would claw back into CL with them failing to win in Paris? For those Arsenal fans who mocked at Spurs, shame on you.
monoslayer SG tis is soccer! everything is unpredictable.. if u cant take it den i suggest u dun watch..
Nelstar SG I know it was inevitable that no change can come out of it, but I cant stand those goners scums. I take it with a pinch of salt and was saying, let's hope that EPL will scale mountains with Arsenal coming back with the trophy. Now? No, I'm praying Arsenal will lose by a five goals margin.
