In the early 2000s, when mu and arsenal were fighting for the EPL title and during arsenal's unbeaten season, wenger said that the CL is not an indication of the best team coz its only a cup competition where teams can get lucky in the knock out stages. He said dat the domestic league is a true indicator of a team's strength. I wonder wat wenger will say if arsenal wins the CL. "Best team in europe?"

The "viagra" team would have reached the final if they did not miss the last min penalty and the numerous chances in the 2nd leg.

JusStatic SG You talking about the new format? If you include the old format, Ajax, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Celtic all won back to back European cups before.
iveco SG Come to think of it, smaller clubs had better chances under the old format. I remember Rosenborg Trondheim making it to the last 8 in 1997. Doubt the new system would allow it considering it favours the big guns of G14.
